In Germany one can never rightfully own goods stolen from somebody else even if those goods were sold by a third party. The ebay seller would actually lose both the car and the money but could of course try to recover the money from the ones who auctioned off the car.
I can't believe it to be different in the UK.
They look exactly like German plugs.
RossL: The smart is pretty safe, especially when crashig into "soft" targets, due to the Tridion cell which is very stiff. Not good when crashing into other stiff targets though.

Another thing I want to add is that Mini and smart are not in the same league. Mini is 3.635m long while the smart is 2.5m short. Trying to find parking space, this really makes a difference.
Lord Plye Wood: The smart DOES have a turbo charger.

The Zap site states "designers governed the top speed to enhance the fuel efficiency" which is a lie. The speed is limited due to the high wind susceptibility. The smart was originally delivered on 145mm wheels and a wind gust could literally blow one off the street at high speeds.

I still do not understand what Zap has to change. Germany does not have light regulations.
I really like the "button" button. Probably startes self-destruction countdown. But what is "in"?
Juergen, I had one of those years ago.
I'll wait for the 180+ degree viewing angle screens.
Krishna Das, you have no idea. I own my second smart now and I drive smart since 6 years. It is much fun to drive since it is has rear-wheel drive with a rear engine and a sequential 6-gear transmission with paddles at the steering wheel. Extremely agile and because of its low center of gravity very much like a kart.
Dietrich is also a common last name in Germany although I personally do not know anyone named Dietrich Dietrich.
Moving outdoors is not an option because it would not be possible to generate a fog as thick as needed there. Waiting for a foggy day is also not feasable since this was an official PR show with camera teams and reporters. They had a date set and it had to be foggy just then.
Pretty stupid and this Autobild guy WAS trying to fool the SternTV team.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
