Just to clear thinks up, a biscuit or cookie is defined by the tax people as a luxury and is subject to VAT or sales tax of 17.5% (just like Macs). A cake is not a luxury according to the Government (what wise and consistent people they are) and is zero rated for VAT. Therefore because the teacake is now a cake M&S didn't need to pay VAT but did and can have there money back.
Digital Audio Broadcasting, its the digital radio standard in Europe and Canada (some other places as well). Its pretty common in the UK you can read about it here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Audio_Broadcasting
me please
Only Orange have EDGE in the UK, there is no real need for it since when they were implementing GPRS they were also buying 3G licenses. I don't know about other EU states but imagine the situation is similar.
O2 dont have EDGE, only Orange in the UK, guess well be stuck with GPRS..
Just a thought. The UK 3G licence holders have to cover 70% of the population by Decmeber 31st 2007 in order to comply with their licences (the ones they paid £22 billion for). WCDMA cells 'breath' i.e. they get physically bigger and smaller as the amount of traffic on them increases. I happen to knwo that o2 have pretty much stopped rolling out any new 3G sites and are touch and go when it comes to their population coverage. Do they really need a load of neards like me using up all of their bandwidth in Q4 2007 watching You Tube videos on their iPhones?
I'm not so sure that this means that VF and TM are the EU operators, most GSM phones store details for other networks for roaming purposes. For instance the prefered roaming partner on my T-Mobile UK branded phone in the US is Cingular. For VF phones (don't forget the Vodafone have a big share in Verizon but can't use CDMA networks) its T-Mobile US. Go figure...
Your irrational! I'm staying up in London just for the unboxin porn...
£250 for 2G only, thing that may not be avilable in the UK? I still wnat one!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
