I don't know where abouts in the world you mean that these things are hitting shelves, but working in Currys in the UK, I've been selling 40 gig PS3's for a few weeks, sold two today as it happens.
Wooo!
I dont get it. I work in Currys.digital in the UK and we stock this camera. amd have done for at least a month. I've seen it, played around with it, and almost sold one. It sells for £399, had an 8GB hard drive, and feels solid in the hand.

Looks more like a G3 iBook inside than a powerbook
Would just like to point out that the only new thing in this release seems to be trackpad scrolling. All other features (except maybe improved keyboard support) seem to be from the 1.1.1 release
Front row now has the new iTunes icon. Eugh. Its horrible
Thats an Apple store?? Look at the state of the stuff on the ledge under the screen! It looks like a jumble sale! And why would an Apple store be using an old Cinema Display???
Merom "promises" a 20% performance increase, not 40% as stated in this post. And real world tests so far show less than a 10% increase. Really, Core 2 Duo is little to be excited about apart from the fact that its 64bit, which future-proofs it somewhat
Angel/devil is awful !

Out of all the ads, these are the worst
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
