I will most likely wait and see how their Android based phones look like. I understand they should be out in a few months. I'm a long time Garmin user, starting with their Street Pilots, and moving to an iQue 3600 (by which all others should be measured). Tom Tom could have a real Hit on their hands, if people start using both the software and the car mount (which improves the experience commendably via built in sirf chip and a nice loud speaker). So.....thats the big competitor out their, and it STILL uses the woefully inadequate ATT system.

At present, I am still using my iQue, and at times use my blackberry curve with Garmin navigation software. Both work very very well.

Now, where's that Asus/Garmin android phone?
Agree with the scratching of this particular phone. Their future exercises on Android might be interesting. Regarding the $99 Garmin GPS app, they already do that, with Garmin Mobile. I have Garmin for blackberry on my curve, and although its a small screen, it works nicely.
If I were a bettin man (and I am) I would say you are exactly right. Bet it uses all the same lenses too.
but where is the Leica Lens?
This is a great phone, and a worthy upgrade to a curve. And I was gonna get one too. THEN, sprint goes and says they are putting wifi on this phone in 2010. Guess I will keep my curve for a year or less, to upgrade then. (heck just got my curve a couple months ago)
Finally!!! someone from the tech sites, who love iphones and touches, who get it! Ok, I admit it, I am a wall street lifer. I loved my treos keyboard, and now like the Blackberry curves keyboard. Two reasons I never got an iPhone. No physical keyboard, and ATT! At the risk of being flamed all over the place........I continue to like Sprint's connection. I like it in my hometown of Indy, I like it in Chicago, SF, and I like it in NY. And usually have a solid 3g connection. I keep reading about lousy ATT connections in San Francisco and NY (where it appears most tech writers blog/write).

Anyway, thats why I keep my Blackberry, and carry my cool ipod Touch in my briefcase for when I wanna do some real surfing on wifi, and watch movies on airplanes etc. You know, what we really wanna use our devices for :)
Well, if they start capping, I start shopping, its that simple. I don't do any bit torrent, or netflix downloading (yet), and have NO idea what my usage is, but Im sure Brighthouse (time warner and Road Runner) will let me know.
Teletubby going mad ROFL what a great lead in. Yup, he's having a grand time. I'm glad he's not trying to make it TOO serious and competitive.
Sure hope Sarah still has a job at HP!
And I just keep using my little white 12 inch ibook G4 with 1 1/2 gigs of ram. (their last model). I did stick a new HD in it, but otherwise it keeps working just fine. Admittedly, its just a travel computer for me, not my main box, but its working fine for now. I use a MacPro at home.

Minuses? Its heavy, it has no built in camera, its not Intel, so I have to use VirtualPC for windoze.

Frankly, I decided to keep using this, until Apple came out with a MUCH smaller and lighter laptop. Thats still my plan. I had an EeePc for a bit, but purchased the linux version. It was not for me, and I sold it on ebay. If Apple doesn't come out with something lighter, and smaller, I will most likely get another netbook, but with 7 or XP. I have very modest needs when traveling.

I don't think they will ignore this market for long, but I am not bettin on sub $500.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
