Oooh, I love the idea of implementing "betrayals" - maybe a bit like when a baby DK has to go report to the main faction leader. Being able to do it in-game would be pretty cool, you'd have to run a long and arduous quest chain involving spying and betrayal, you'd have to put up with the scorn of the opposing faction as you built up clandestine rep, before finally being accepted into the opposing faction.

However, I think that if this were implemented without racial changes, racism would be rife - I know that even as a non-RP troll I'd find it a bit odd, possibly even offensive to find a PUG and then discover that one in the group was a human. PVP wise, I'm generally live and let live - off the battlefield at least - especially when holidays require sneaking into an enemy city for an achievement, but I've been ganked by too many Ally players while I'm minding my own business fishing or mining while the 5min pvp cool down is still running, to have any good will towards most Alliance on my server (Doomhammer EU.)

When I read the phrase "roughly equivalent character," however, I interpreted that to mean that Tauren Shamen would become Dranei Shamen, Belves would become Nelves, and each other race would have an equivalent on the opposing team. Dwarves and elves pose difficulties, I know. I'd be affronted if I was expected to squeeze my proud Trollish frame into a nasty squat little gnome.
hehe... Cheers, but I'm a next-gen girl all the way, my knowledge of TOS canon is non-existent apart from a vague knowledge of tribbles. I'm going by the re-booted movie canon - Spock designed the Kobiashi Maru exam, and designed it to be impossible to beat. I think that makes him Blizzard, don't you?

Oh, and it makes Yogg-Saron a Klingon, come to think of it.

;-)
Am i the first one to think that this is essentially a Kobiashi Maru situation? The fight was mathematically unbeatable, so Exodus changed the fight to make it winnable.

I believe it made Captain Kirk a legend at Starfleet Academy.

As a social player who's only been into Ulduar as far as the first boss in 10-man mode, who cares whether they used an exploit or not? Good on em for finding a way to beat the unbeatable, I say!

Hats off to Exodus, the new Kirk to Blizzard's Spock.
As an Aussie who's been living in the UK for the past 4 years, I have to say I'm getting a bit tired of the hype around Australian "censorship". I agree with CombaWombat - honestly, it's not that big a deal - most of the stuff that's censored is dren anyway.

I do care a lot about the proposed internet censorship, but I doubt that that will get through, not with lobbyists like GetUp on the case.

A final comment about the brothel that got closed down because of not paying its rent - Al Capone finally got done in for tax evasion. Sometimes it's just an excuse. Not that i'm saying it is in this case - I'm all for legalised prostitution so long as it's regulated and the workers are doing it voluntarily and are being looked after. I'm also perversely proud that The Daily Planet (a big brothel chain) is listed on the Aussie Stock Exchange...

Totally Off Topic, I know. Sorry.
Worked fine for me!
@Velina - I had a 62 ShadowPriest when I first tried to quit WoW. My Farewell Krual Worldz (of Warcraft) was pathetically dramatic - I sold off ALL my gear except the robe on my back and my wand (didn't wanna be nekkid after all, that would just be unsightly).

I gave all my materials to my guild, and all my money (several thousand) to a good mate. So when I went and committed a kamikaze attack on the big boss at the Gate of Destiny or whatever it's called, I got squashed like a bug, wearing only my robe, wielding only my wand.

Then just 3 weeks later, I realised that quitting WoW was a silly idea. I don't know WHAT I was thinking.

So I logged back on again and started playing with no money, no gear and no friends - I'd switched realms too (there may have been a bad breakup and escaping an ex boyfriend involved).

I was maxed out in skinning and mining which helped with the gold farming (thorium and rugged leather fetch a good price on my server) but really, as a shadow priest you should be able to pick a fight with a mob and barely let him touch you.

Pop a shield, wait a few seconds to let the weakened soul wear off a bit, then hit the mob with mind blast. Then run in the opposite direction and hit a couple of instant cast dots as you're doing so, and as soon as the cooldown is done on those, hopefully the mob won't have reached you yet. This is where you whip around and land em with Mind Flay - this'll slow them down, and with any luck they'll be at less than half health by the time they start wailing on you. Now you can go into normal combat again, use Mind Blast (I'd not recommend shadow word: death, this'll weaken your shield)

Once this happens, your shield will start absorbing all the damage, and hopefully by the time they knock it out, your soul will be sufficiently strong that you'll be ready to pop it again if you need it.

This way, you can got through the Outland starting areas and not take ANY damage at all, while you pick up all that tasty tasty gear along the way.

Happy questing!
OK, I know I'm probably going to get voted down for this comment, but I have to say:

"Dressing yourself in clown greens is embarassing"

First off - and I can't believe I'm saying this - not being able to spell-check for the proper spelling of "embarrassing" is embarrassing in itself.

But the comment itself stinks of elitist whinging. Get over yourself and play the game. Some of us haven't been at 70 long enough to have picked up a full set of epics, and I'm actually quite stoked by some of the greens which are dropping.
I second that motion, Gabo - comment voted for. Let's make this a sticky post please, Engadget!
100 quai a day?! Bloody hell, by Chinese standards that's good money - though it was 5 years ago, not sure what inflation has done to things. I earned that much when I was teaching English in China. Considering you could get a nice meal for four people for 30 quai or so, 100 quai isn't so bad.

It's pretty sobering though, the amount of waste we produce. I'm thinking about an iPhone, but my little Motorola V3i is still choofing along nicely - I'm into my second contract with it. Sure, an iPhone would be nice, but these documentaries are enough to make me think, no. I think I'll hold onto my trusty wee Razr for a bit longer, until it really dies. Three years, still going strong!
My Razr V3i has been like a tank! I couldn't begin to count how many times I've dropped it on hard concrete, and it's still going strong. Fragile my butt!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
