If money is tight, I'd get a Popcorn Hour or a WDTV device.

If money isn't so tight, and you want a superior user experience, I love WMC + mediabrowser.
@(Unverified) 30 Rock won more Emmys than any other TV show. NBC owned USA has Monk, White Collar, and Burn Notice, three of the highest rated scripted shows on Cable. NBC owns SyFy... three initials- B S G
@Warren 250GB bandwidth caps are the Beez Neez!
@sitruc That's called basic cable. Shows like Son of Anarchy, White Collar, and Monk are doing well ratings wise, especially for viewers 18-45.

Broadcast can chase the 45+ crowd all it wants. That's where the population is, so it makes since for them to do that. But there's some good television out there in cableland, let's just hope Comcast doesn't make it Comcast exclusive.
@LilCoop2 The one constant regardless of whatever happens in the TV industry is that your cable bill will go up. Irrespective of this deal, Comcast will charge you more for content the following year than they will the previous year.
Except that once we get a la carte, there won't be enough interest in the specialty cable channels to keep them afloat. Either you'll pay HBO prices for every channel you want, "specialty" channels like SyFy will have to have more contest shows and pro wrestling to keep an audience, or content producers will decrease the number of channels, thus less opportunity to show the show you happen to like that doesn't get American Idol numbers.

Maybe my watching patterns aren't the norm, but I only watch 1-3 shows on any given cable network. The remote doesn't sit on a single channel, or even 4-6 favorite channels. In a world where more people watch the Kardashian wedding than Mad Men, I don't see how quality niche shows will survive in an a la carte world. Hopefully for those that really want a la carte, digital delivery will give them the selection and price savings they are looking for.
Saved 24% on a set of 7 Blu-ray movies at Amazon (paid $103 for movies hat today cost $137). Went after a lot of new releases so I wasn't expecting to save much, but every dollar helps.
As long as Pay TV stays being the easiest way to get content to your TV, people will stick to it.
Times New Roman sucks
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
