I love these legal disclaimers. (no criticism of the author implied)
"none of this is legal... analysis", when clearly it is.

It's like all the websites which say "not intended as a solicitation for investment" when they blatantly are.

Got to love the legal system.
I don't get it. Europe has loads of Wiis, all the stores in England have Wii in stock, Japan has wii stock but why is America still in shortage??

Even Canada has lots of wii consoles:

I'm starting to believe those who say Nintendo is deliberately managing supply to the USA make sure they keep selling out.

Some new games would be nice too. I've played Wii Sports and one cross platform title. Haven't on my wii system in weeks.
The situation is definitely improving. I think more latent demand is being met and supply is being kept constant. It's possible to find a wii in stock online as long as you're willing to buy it as part of a bundle. More good news is that bundles have dropped from a high of nearly $600 to just over $400:

However it's still really hard to find wii stock online which is not part of a bundle. I'll believe the Wii availability situation has been resolved when Amazon can keep the wii in stock for more than a few minutes at a time. Based on this report that may not be until early 2008.
I hope to get some replacement straps with this locking mechanism. I constantly find myself readjusting and tightening the current straps when playing so they feel more secure. Considering the amount Nintendo spends on R&D (more than the U.S. government spends on educational research) I would have thought they could have figured more of these issues out before release.

To KC - Canada, the Wii stock situation seems better than America. 3 out of the 5 major online retailers have had stock in the last few days:

To mWMA, yeah the Wii bundles are looking very overpriced especially now that both the XBOX 360 and the PS3 can be had for under $500. I noticed Gamestop recently raised the price of their bundle a $100 (and added one game) and they have just dropped it $40. Eventually demand and supply will equalise and people won't be forced to buy bundled games they often don't want.
"If you want a Wii, get up a 6am on a Sunday morning. It's no big deal."

Try about 12 am on a Sunday morning, that's the last time Amazon had the Wii in stock:

Weird time to add stock, surely that's not when they receive their deliveries from Nintendo. Maybe even online retailers are holding back stock, like their bricks & mortar counterparts.
What shortage?

Wal-Mart has Wii in stock online on most days:

I don't think America is getting as many as other countries. The Wii is in stock in most stores and online stores in the UK. There is a 44% premium over the U.S. price, but that's nothing compared to the 70% premium of the PS3. Maybe Nintendo is looking to lock down Europe before switching the supply to America.
No problems finding a PS3 online but as for a Nintendo Wii as you can see everywhere is out of stock in the USA:
http://www.nintendo-wii-consoles.com

However over in the UK there are loads of Wiis in stock to buy - this is probably because Nintendo would rather sell a Wii in the UK for USD $360 than a console in the USA for only USD $250. At the end of the day both Nintendo and Sony want to make money, though it looks like Nintendo is doing a much better job at the moment.
The adult industry is tremendously influential. I remember the Economist magazine (as touted by your favourite world leader) had a cover article on how it has driven technology and innovation in many industries e.g. the internet, VHS, DVD, premium rate phone services etc. etc.

In answer to those who wonder why there isn't more downloadable HD content, the answer is bandwidth costs. Not for you, but for the adult companies. I've got a friend with a fairly successful adult site and his hosting costs are $40,000+ A MONTH. And that's with non-HD content. A lot of men are going to want to show off their new home HD rigs with an adult hi-def disc.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
