London, Britain (Brits), England

I bet you don't even know the difference, you mention all 3 in the story
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCd1PO5CFyo

an old video about the number plate recognition (we call them "number plates" or "registration numbers" which in the US you call license plate)
@ Jeremy K, I wouldn't believe that paper, but this story is true, but also old, we have a show on the BBC called "Traffic Cops" which camera's ride round with traffic cops, and this was shown on there, you can set it to alert you in whatever way you want, but this female & male pairing chose this sound, it was on TV last summer, recorded last winter and it wasn;t new technology even then, shame engadget are so far behind yet again
dirty Chavs
Under 30 dollars is a sale to us!
don't forget we live in "rip off Britain" where prices on everything are higher to start with, then VAT is added
the player is not multiregion, but it can be made multiregion with a simple set of remote commands

as for the story, I agree with the poster above, the Americans really need to learn the difference between London, England, Britain & UK

and the story is actually wrong:
"plans to start selling the Durabrand DVD player for just £9"
the were selling them at that price for 4 days only, today is the last day

for anyone in the UK, keep an eye on hotukdeals.com which is updated many times a day with great offers and codes for loads of retailers and online stores (this DVD player was on there the day before the price reduction)
"but for those that prefer not to take their tea with crumpets"

what is it with you fucking Yanks that you always have some sort of dig or other in your stories at the British/English/Europeans?

hardly anyone drinks tea, we don't all talk with either "posh" or 18th century cockney accents, no one wears bowler hats and sits round the breakfast table and we don't all come from London
@ Yaya, it can run on new computers too, a company bought out Eyetech who made the AmigaOne and now there's no one to make that model, although there are some companies working on a new board

it can also run on A1200 with a Blizzard PPC accelerator (and it's still faster than a Windows PC!)

@ Revels - not sure about Speedball, but DPain IV has been tested and is working perfectly, as well as newer image editors like photogenics

@ Phil, there's still thousands of Amiga users about, why shouldn't they get an updated OS?
will someone please answer me this:
how are they playing HD-DVD as well as Blu-ray???

I have both drives in my Media Center PC but can only get PowerDVD to play Blu-ray and WinDVD8 HD doesn't even try HD-DVD

what software does this monster use???
now if only they could get motorcyclists to obey the rules of the road too and stop them swerving in and out of traffic, undertaking, driving in bus lanes and overtaking when they shouldn't be.

Hopefully this will come into force and stop them driving at stupid speeds as they do at the moment
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
