paranoid much, tim? it's a GPS reciever.
Wow. How has the audience of this blog moved so far away from casual tech talk? There was NOTHING prejudicial in the author's comments, #15.

The author's detractors should appreciate the inevitable difficulties in communication that occur between speakers of completely different tongues. This natural communication gap is further widened by the context of the support calls - most users seem to have little to no knowledge of the relevant computer terms. The combination of the above factors creates support calls that are full of "hilarious phone support hijinks"!

Think about the context before you automatically deride the author for prejudice.
awesome Scream face in the back seat, took me a while to notice
I literally just sent my girlfriend a birthday telegram through Western Union a week ago. Don't hate on the service. It's a classic bit of anachronistic tech that's great to have around - after all, why do us nerds keep Apple IIs and Ataris?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
