Mar 28th 2008 3:10PM When I was working at the caddy dealership in town I saw a CTS-V come back from an audio shop with all of the front airbags blown because the idiot installing the stereo probed the airbag wire. The owner was a real douchebag though, he was having the rear end of his poor CTS-V replaced for the THIRD time.

Consumer Reports says: keep your car for 225,000 miles {Autoblog}

Sep 7th 2007 5:06AM It is true that it really boils down to regular maintenance. some vehicles may run longer when ran for 40,000k miles without an oil change, but no vehicle should be expected to do that. Sure my 98 f150 will have its occasional problems, but anything that seems significant can usually be fixed by replacing a fuse. What is ridiculous about this CR article is that a lot of the "Good Bets" share drive trains and platforms. We get it, Honda makes a good 4 banger and Toyota makes a good 6cyl. Why not mention an American V8. Not everyone knows that the last gen tundra's v8 couldn't handle the bolt on trd supercharger. Why not mention the ford focus, which got CR best in class award in 2004. Yeah it was 3 years ago, but the car hasn't changed in reliability. Just a thought.
