I've been running XP since release. I've been running OS X since the public beta. I've never had a BSOD on XP that I couldn't trace to a hardware problem or my installing a driver that XP told me not to install. This is the first day of the beta release - don't get the wrong idea about XP just yet.
I remember seeing something like this, but with microwaves. It was on a cover of a Popular Science magazine published sometime in the 80's.
I was praying for an Intel Mac mini for my Second Life machine. My Turion laptop doesn't have the right chipset for the game and my desktop is too long in the tooth. If Apple chose a better GPU, there would be a Mac mini on its way to my house right now. I'll have to go wintel for my desktop now.
Early on, before the eBay buyout, they were all about being e-money. At some point they launched a WAP site, but it's long since fallen into disrepair, a victim of unsupported back-end updates and neglect.

I like buying things on ebay that are close enough to pick up in person. Being able to send paypal payments from my cell phone was great, while it lasted.
So, I can be in a meeting, wearing my jacket, listening to tunes, because nobody will notice that I have white earbuds in my ears.
I can't help but think that upgrading to a cell phone size would also involve taking something away. I see the GBA slot disappearing, if anything.

Of course, my wish would be for added GB support, or at least, GBA link cable support.
Yeah. Just don't knock off the crappy rubber feet HP is putting on their laptops these days. They fit into a tight indentation in the bottom so you can't use other feet, their height leaves them well proud of the case, and they seem to use a rather disappointing adhesive. Oh, and they don't sell replacements, even for currently shipping product.

Hate to have you read a thirty-five page review, buy a laptop thinking you were diligent, and then be stuck with a wobbly computer two months later.
1) Sony releases D-Beta, which quickly takes over not only the D-VHS market, but Blu-Ray's as well.
2) The Infinium Labs Phantom gets an integrated GPRS radio, and starts selling through Cingular stores.
3) Bluehonking, the practice of dressing-down wayward drivers via their car's hands-free system becomes a buzzword after a New York Times article details the practice. Two weeks later, the Times' retraction will be covered on slashdot. It will not make front page.
4) Digital paper displays will become more common, eventually finding use on AOL cd envelopes.
5) Anti-bacterial products will become a major fad. Phones, keyboards, mice, headsets, even iPods will start to be molded from the specially-treated fabric.
6) Apple will adopt a new design philosophy. Color will again appear in the Apple lineup.
7) Johnathan Ive will move to Dell.
8) A major vendor will have a falling out with Microsoft.
9) 30 named hurricanes and tropical storms will see a new emphasis communications infrastructure.
10) Nerds will become the new sex objects.
11) Green will become the new black.
12) A tsunami will cause a shortage of blue LEDs.
In the same boat here. At home, I'm dual-platform, but I've evacuated to my sister's, and she's Mac only. I'm rather miffed. In fact, I have a trio of PIII systems that I bought surplus and was almost ready to resell for a small profit. They're running a clean install of Mandrake. I was thinking of donating them to a shelter, but one of the most important sites to someone in a shelter is unavailable.
Poor Sears. They've had an odd affair with Apple for years. Having finally broke ties with Apple around the time the first iPod, theyu jumped ship just in time to miss out on one of Apple's most successful products ever. Ever cautious, Sears decided to wait for this whole iPod thing to either sink or swim. They let it languish on sears.com for a while. In the last month or two, they started to put the hp branded iPod on high-profile displays in their stores. They dedicated center aisle endcaps, stocked with a large accessory selection. Right now, iPod shuffles are starting to make their way into stores. All of this is thanks to HP. The question, I suppose, is whether Sears will go directly to Apple, or just drop the whole thing altogether.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
