Ok I just bought one and listed Engadget as the referrer. Hopefully these guys will throw some advertising bucks back at Engadget for the referral :)
Hey can someone with Dish tell me how the new TurboHD is supposed to work? They're saying Dish on Demand HD programs are now in 1080p, but the VIP722 and other receivers will only output 1080i. How am I going to watch 1080p programming, on my 1080p sets, with a 1080i sat box HDMI output?

THAT is my question. I wish Engadget would look into it.

Otherwise, I'm all with the Dish lovers. I bought my 4 and 6 year olds each their own Archos 605 with the solid state storage and 16Gb SDHD cards and it's the shiznit. Ben 10 for the boy and Hannah for the girl until they fall ASLEEP :)
You don't shift your weight on a Segway to turn it. You use hand controls.
Jay... good luck with NetApp then... or one of the niche players. You can laugh at EMC but they bought VMWare for $680(ish) million and will make billions upon billions from it.

EMC still viable... hahaha. They have 12-15 billion cash money in the bank and the majority marketshare in the SAN and VTL space. They're making good headway towards the NAS market as well, and I can say from personal experience that the Celerra is a fantastic product. Your comment about EMC being viable shows that you are not wel established in the SAN / NAS marketplace anyways. Once you get a little more experience and out of first level tech support for your company you'll understand :)

What a waste. My M1330 actually GETS 4+ hours on the 9 cell battery under heavy use / full brightness (with LED screen) - and it has a slot load DVD writer. And it has a nice full size, full motion keyboard, along with a 2.2Ghz Core duo and 3Gb of RAM PLUS internal AT& 3G which averages 1.20mbps in the DFW area. All for a fair amount LESS money than this thing. Oh, and it has a 160Gb 7200rpm drive vs. that crapola iPod 80Gb sloooowwww drive.

Oh and a VGA port.

Oh and an HDMI port.

Oh and an Ethernet port.

Ohhhh well. Enjoy your MBA! I hear (x10,000) that you can fit it in an envelope! Best leave it in there!

Please pick the guy just above me! Whoever that is.
Absolutely ridiculous. Why put additional cost into every tape and failure prone electronics, when the person who has the tape, even if you TRACK THEM DOWN, has already read the data?

ENCRYPT data at rest and in motion and you're much better off than tracking unsecure data.
Gizmodo rules your sorry asses! Pick me for the win!
Nothing at ALL nice about this one. What a terrible design. Unbalanced, just plain ungly.

This makes my stomach upset.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I want a 13-incher. I need something with a great keyboard for typing, as this will mostly be used for note taking in class. I am absolutely smitten with the XPS 13, but I'm afraid that with its age Dell is going to give it an update soon. Any advice for someone in my shoes?"
