If I may say so, this was probably the worst article I've ever read on Engadget. This guy sounds like a some how less in touch Wal Mossberg. I've been reading this site since I was in high school. Don't start bringing in second rate journalists with zippy headlines that don't back it up with shit.

That there is M0, the monetary base, and guess what? It's more than doubled since the beginning of 2008! What does that mean? Inflation is inevitable. Stall it all you will but until this graph goes down it should be the main concern. This is why I think it will be a great time to get a mortgage. Why you ask? That sounds so stupid every body knows home values are way inflated... let me explain

Ok, I agree home prices are inflated right now. But why? Because of reckless lending practices and cheap money from the Fed. Oh look, free money from the Fed is going to fix it? Wait, what? No, more money isn't going to fix it, it will eventually exacerbate the problem. So buy a house now because you know that prices are going to eventually be artificially inflated by these actions. Then when all the currency starts feeling the pinch, as a borrower you win!

Why again you ask? It's simple, you're paying back the bank with dollars that are actually _worth less_ then the dollars you used to buy the house. Therefore, the lender loses and you win, assuming you still have a job to pay the bank back with, which you probably won't because the banks always win.

So over the next couple of months, forced investment in nationalized banks may turn the tide for a little while, but the global economy will catch up with the U.S. and now, since we make almost nothing here, we're going to reap the consequences. So thank the Federal Reserve, Wall St., the lack of transparency in structured finance and piss poor diligence by your "investment adviser" for this dilly of a pickle and start learning how to farm.

mmm pickles

"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
