I'll agree - as an engineer (software), I love this book.
I just hope this doesn't pull Jamie Newman from Eureka.
Hey, that picture from Eureka is atleast a season old (ok, nit-picking, but it's the one show i'm looking forward to tonight).
Just keeping ya'll on your toes :D
Unless he's reading anything by Anthony Bourdain, I'm gonna be a bit skeptical.
I agree the tax write off can be abused (and is a lot), there are people who it really helps (small businesses who need a pickup to haul materials to job sites, etc).

And if I'm not mistaken, both sides are guilty of giving in on just about anything you can think of.
I don't know about other parts of the country, but in Wisconsin, we have a LOT to choose from. For smaller breweries my friends and I like, we have Lakefront in Milwaukee, New Glaris new Madison, Point in Stevens Point, Tyranena near Lake Mills, Captial in Madison, Sprecher in Milwaukee, plus withing about 10 miles of my house, I know of atleast 2 smaller brewer/restaurant type shops (and many more if you go into Milwaukee). I do the same with my coffee - regardless of the 'green' garbage, buy local, help keep your money in the local economy.
I dunno, I live in the midwest, and I spent a week working around Alexandria, LA last year, and some of the stereotypes work down there still. My coworker being called 'that colored boy'? Check. Confederates marching? Check. Some places earn them. Watch Escanaba In Da Moonlight, and go to the Upper Penninsula. There's a reason sometimes...
My question is I did get it to go through (followed that format), will my entry be invalidated?
@nd - Have you ever held or used one of DXG's cameras? They really are towards the bottom of the line quality. If you have been around Engadget for a while, relax, and realize that this is normal fair. Relax, put on a pot of decaf, and simmer.

This is interesting though for projects, because as I see it, you could outfit a bunch of people with these for fairly cheap, and if they get destroyed, who cares? Plus the solid state-ness of the SD format is very nice so there isn't as likely a chance of losing something due to gummed up heads, jammed tapes, etc.

We'll see when it comes to real-life performance.
I agree with your hate of the pre-movie commercials (not the trailers, the trailers are half the reason for going), but I don't agree with your dislike of the National Guard ads. They're doing their best to promote something just like anyone else. I'd rather knock the repeated to sickness Pepsi Max ads. At least with a music video you have some musical entertainment value.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
