yes velocitySTRIKE; i've been to some that have had free registration and two that had a small charge to attend. I'm used to freebies at this sort of thing (My gf received a delightful DVD on the abuse of women in hardcore porn when she attended a feminist one recently).

By saying "HAY GUISE TOTALLY FREE DSES" I assumed that Chris was implying that if you were a teacher, you could turn up, sit around, listen to a few people give presentations and then grab a free ds. This isn't a big deal, I don't reckon many readers here would have got their hopes up for nothing.
I can't see anything on that site about free attendance. Registration costs £275 (about $550 approx).

So unfortunatley, no free DSes for registrants, unless if your employee pays for you.
i think this patent goes further than the sort of features provided by sailing clicker though. doesn't that essentially just wrap your phone's buttons to apple remote functions?

thats all well and good, what if you were sitting down, you had your itunes on playing some music, you wanted to change the playlist but didn't particularly feel like getting up?

presto; you open up itunes remote on your iphone, you directly select what playlist or what track you want to play, or change the volume or whatever using the multitouch screen?

i figure that this sort of functionality would be a pretty inevitable progression, the iphone seems a pretty powerful piece of kit to just be used as an internet navigator, media player and phone.
will we see anymore multi touch products? e.g. a line of apple multi touch controllers for use by arty farty types? it seems a bit counter-productive for apple to sit on innovations like this and only introduce them in the iPhone (which although mighty fancy, doesn't really offer much for people who want to be productive with their technology)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
