Thanks I freaked out prematurely and shouldn't have tried to downgrade back so soon. I was able to get it to restore to 1.0.2 but only after many attempts. I had to restore using the unzipped ipsw file using independence then disconnecting the iphone and letting itunes find it in recovery mode then using the 1.0.2 firmware to downgrade. You can't just hold the home button while reboot the phone. That was scary!
I was running a downgraded 1.0.2 firmware unlock with iphonesimfree unlock and used this process to try and upgrade to 1.1.1. but once I was done the iphone showed that the capacity was only 300mb. so tried to restore downgrade back to 1.0.2 to try and fix the problem but now i get an error message and i'm unable to downgrade. I tried restoring using 1.1.1 and that worked but of course it now needs to be activated. so i tried to again downgrade to 1.0.2 which i have done before and i get that error again. tried it on 2 intel macs so far and get it on both :( stuck on 1.1.1
Ok, so now we have the software(toast8) and the finally the hardware, But I'm pretty sure this is not all you need to format a movie to run on a Blu-ray drive. Forget making movie backups, I think all this can do is write data for now.
The 1.5 US update is already on the playstation website.
Can't wait to get home and try the update! I'm a hopeful pessimist. Does anyone think maybe Sony does this on purpose? Maybe they use these fixes as a way of forcing people to make FW updates they may not otherwise download. Like how people keep the old psp FW to run homebrew, Sony released the psp web browser, then the flash player, in order to entice people to upgrade and give up there ROMZ. Comments?
Neat trick but completely useless to have a credit card accessory for your PS3. unless maybe you own a small business and want a new way to run your cash registrar with awesome graphics!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
