My grandpa prefers small, low resolution screens. I prefer gorgeous larger screens with 2.5x the resolution. He prefers phones that can only do one thing at a time. I prefer multitasking. He prefers lousy networks that drop calls all the time. I prefer the highest rated network their is. He prefers paying lots of money for old-school style nav apps. I prefer getting the hottest navigation on the planet for free. He prefers just shutting his phone off when he runs out of battery. I prefer to pop in another battery and keep going. He prefers having 2/3 of his screen taken up by a virtual keyboard when he's replying to an e-mail. I prefer to be able to see what I'm actually replying to. He prefers having somebody tell him what apps he can and can't install on his phone. I prefer having the ability to install whatever I want.

See how this works? It's all personal preference.
The Droid has a full blown GPS solution, so it will be able to update position without a connection. The problem is that you won't have road data if you go outside whatever area was cached before you lost the signal. I'd imagine there will be an option to buy at least basic map data for the entire US at some point, at least if this starts to really replace traditional nav units.
Dang, I gave up on Netflix coming to the PS3 and bought a 360. Oh well, I wanted one anyway.
I boot my desktop a hell of a lot less frequently than I boot my notebook, so I don't know why it would be cooler for a notebook to take a long time to boot. This isn't a replacement for a regular desktop... this is for someplace you need an extra computer for lightweight tasks: Kitchen, living room, whatever.

I doubt they'll find a large market for it but it'll be just the thing for some people.
Smile for the camera.
"i don't think i've ever come across a price mistake, for example, on apple's website, probably due to the fact that they try to hire competent people."

Oh please, tell me your joking. Dell has thousands of items on their web site, with prices that change regularly. Apple offers a small fraction of that amount, and almost never changes their prices. I'm sure Apple would make an occasional mistake if they had as much going on as Dell too.
There once was a man from Nantucket...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
