I will say that $399 is a lot more "affordable" than €399. Sorry, European peoples...
Thanks a lot!
That would be "economies of scale," not "scales of economy".
@FK:

Your desire to be an ass is confirmed by yours. The dictionary definition as linked restates exactly what I wrote in my first comment: "covetous" is an adjective that describes someone who wants something that isn't theirs, whether or not those feelings are extreme. The author of the post used the word to mean "desirable", as in a desirable object. Covetous describes people; an object can't be covetous. Need a similar distinction to help you out? Try envious and enviable.

My point is that Engadget needs a copy editor. You should not apply for the job.
Did you post this link to affirm my comment? If so, thanks!
"Covetous" does not mean "desirable". It means wanting something that is the property of someone else.
I'm pretty sure those icons came from a Win XP icon set circa August 2001.
Watches are like noodles.
@RattyUK: Out of the way of what?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new laptop, and I want a 13-incher. I need something with a great keyboard for typing, as this will mostly be used for note taking in class. I am absolutely smitten with the XPS 13, but I'm afraid that with its age Dell is going to give it an update soon. Any advice for someone in my shoes?"
