Macally PowerLink: 3-in-1 battery pack {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 9th 2008 4:10PM Given the size of this thing, I say the battery life is probably under 10 mins, but still a very cool idea (and a good price too).

"First" US WiMAX deployment goes live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming {Engadget}

Jul 1st 2008 1:09PM Slightly off topic, but I went there a few years ago (beautiful place, great slopes), I remember the tour guide said Harrison Ford lives in the area and one time (him being an aircraft nut) actually flew his private helicopter to rescue some stranded hikers on the mountain. How bad ass is that! Imagine the shock of the hikers when you see Harrison Ford in the cockpit picking you up, makes you think he's filming Indiana Jones or something.

OQO 02 gets official Garmin GPS accessory {Engadget}

May 21st 2008 8:36AM Problem for using the OQO as an in-car GPS is that the OQO has an active touchscreen, you can't poke the screen with your fingers. Instead, you will need to use a stylus like you are using a wacom tablet.

And to answer the question why use an UMPC as an in-car GPS, I am currently using a Fujitsu u810 for that purpose. I like the idea of it being more flexible, I can pick whatever mapping program I want and the map updates are much cheaper than the ones on a standalone PND (like you can find MS Streets & Trips on sale for $30 all the time)

ASUS and MSI have some 'splaining to do {Engadget}

May 18th 2008 9:21AM Is it really that hard to shoot your own photos? I mean whoever did the photoshop work, even took the time to play plastic surgeon...look at the face on the kid in the background on the MSI one!
