The fan problems on the xtreamer have been sorted, depending on what you want. New firmware allows more control and lower settings for fan speed. And they have designed and sell a completely passive heatsink which suffices so that you can completely disable the fan in the settings. And attaching it does *not* even invalidate the warranty. Or you can now buy it with the heatsink installed, like I did. So a company that not only listens to user feature requests but also designs and sells hardware mods for its own kit, in response to user requests - awesome!

I also have the original wired ProMedia 2.1s and bought them about 7-8 years ago. Unlike others, I've never had any of it die on me. Have recently bought some Q Accoustics 1010i speakers and these Klipsch still have have the edge clarity wise. Only thing that galls is how cheap you can buy them now compared to how much I had to spend back thing.

The *one* disadvantage that does bug me however is that the amps in the sub aren't the highest quality (impossible at this price) and there is a residual background hum on my speakers, even at zero volume. It's generally not noticeable with they're outputting or there's some background noise but it's enough to bug me. Sure I can turn it off at the sub but that's hassle each time.

Does anyone else experience this? Any solutions? May well end up getting rid of mine because of this, though they have more than served me well...

Yeah agree - though if they could now integrate power into the SATA spec it would be so much easier (few cables inside my pc and external SATA much more elegant)

Given that USB 3 is backwards compatible with USB 2, that's not correct. But I take you point that its potential is limited for a while...

I love projectors for home theatre but let me get this straight - this provides a barely bigger screen that looks washed out in bright lights and can't sit on your lap, takes time to set up, requires extra wiring and uses a projector on a tripod that can be easily knocked over? And this is better than a laptop how?
