May 28th 2008 3:31PM Man a photo with the display showing something would've been cool...

Nokia's N95 8GB for North America gets v20 firmware as well {Engadget}

May 28th 2008 2:09AM That's why the Software Updater explicitly tells you to BACK UP your phone before proceeding.

Anyhow newer Nokia's don't/won't have this problem as they've improved on it and stuff like contacts doesn't have to get wiped out during a firmware upgrade anymore. I can't remember the fancy name for it right now.

Toshiba lets loose 13.3-inch Portege M800 laptop {Engadget}

May 7th 2008 10:43AM I was quite excited when I saw the heading in rss feed but quickly felt quite disappointed. Expected a lot more for a portege. 4.3lbs?! My Portege M200 is 4.3lbs. where's the progress :)

Nokia settles with German unions for $314M {Engadget}

Apr 8th 2008 7:03PM More likely the other way around, where Germany and it's unions didn't live up to Nokia's expectation. You don't give a company tax breaks if you don't want them to operate there. You give the tax breaks cause you're trying to lure them.

Nokia bit and gave them a chance only to find that it wasn't working out for them. They paid out to reduce that flack and hopefully make everyone as happy as possible, given the situation.

The higher union costs is what screws everyone over. Sure people have to make a living but Nokia and their shareholders aren't non-profit organizations either.

France's Eurovia aims to make roads change color to warn of ice {Engadget}

Apr 8th 2008 6:53PM It doesn't matter if it's ice covered or not. It's supposed to alert drivers so that they can be more cautious. You don't drive carefully ONLY if it's icy, you're supposed to drive according to the current road conditions which is the purpose of colour changing roads. To help the driver recognize dangerous driving conditions.

France's Eurovia aims to make roads change color to warn of ice {Engadget}

Apr 8th 2008 6:47PM wouldn't work, ice will still form. Probably faster than on asphalt/concrete. You hear of peoples tongue getting stuck on metal but never on asphalt! :)

MSI intros "anion" laptop, power saving Turbo Battery Technology {Engadget}

Feb 27th 2008 1:00PM Oh man! I had all but forgotten about the turbo button PCs use to have!! What a gimmick at the time, push the button and you went from 33mhz to 66mhz!!

DroboShare Drobo NAS mini-review {Engadget}

Jan 14th 2008 9:55AM Hmm, this news could've been useful a couple weeks ago.... but with the speeds posted, I should be pretty happy with the Ready NAS unit I just purchased. (which was not considered cause of the cost?)

rCard digital business card now available {Engadget}

Oct 17th 2007 10:44AM Well they say it's overkill for business cards. Depending on how slim this thing is, it will be great for rewards cards and the such... as mentioned in the article.

Every store has their reward cards now and if this thing can show the numbers or barcodes clearly enough to scan, that'd be awesome.

Would I pay 40$ for it though? Maybe if there was a 50% off coupon!
