"no one's debating that AT&T's 3G isn't the fastest where available."

You forgot, "when" it's available and by that I'm referring to reliability. AT&T's network in New York is terrible, everyday between 4:30PM and 5:30PM you either can't get 3G, can't make a call, or get bumped down to Edge. What I don't understand is if a country like China with 30 Million people in Shanghai alone can pull off a reliable network why can't AT&T do the same and I'm not even debating data lets just get basic calling working than we can work on data.
I'm hoping that Steve gives Phil Schiller a good slap upside the head for putting Apple under the FCC magnifying glass... you gotta ask yourself at the end of the day was it worth all this press for an APP?? especially when the industry is going in this direction anyways?

I'm surprised they gave a marketing guy so much influence in the company... every time that guy opens his mouth he sounds like a know nothing fake.
And this is why bloggers will never ever ever ever be considered "professionals" this is for all intensive purposes a "rant" it's not a review of anything.... it's all based on conjecture. You personally are not a fan of the iPhone mail app and the AT&T network sucks in New York which I will admit it does... please do a proper comparison how does the BlackBerry compare? What does the BlackBerry do that's better than the iPhone.

Now go out and get a BlackBerry or Windows Mobile device because you sound like you're going to throw yourself off a building if you have to use the iPhone for another minute in your doctors den.
It is creep the amount of time money and effort the U.S devotes to developing devices solely for maiming/killing people. You guys like to point fingers at North Korea, China, Russia etc... but I bet they don’t spend half as much money as the U.S.. But it’s fine for the U.S. because they can do no wrong with these instruments of war.
I wonder if they dropped the camera, that did absolutely nothing on the N800
Very well written and thought out...

Key point for the love of god get this one right

"Add WiFi - Is it really almost 2008 and the Treo STILL doesn't have WiFi? No excuses any more, sort it out."

ALSO... GREAT HARDWARE NEED and I can't stress this ENOUH NEEDS GREAT SOFTWARE....

There are lots of companies that makes pretty hardware but HORRIBLE software... MAKE YOUR SOFTWARE FLOW WITH YOUR HARDWARE.

And if your going with LINUX PLEASE Don't depend solely on opensource developers to port their apps YOU NEED TO SHIP WITH GOOD APPS out of the box... Nokia Made this mistake with their N800 tablet it's great hardware but the Software it shipped with SUCKED.
Bottom line is only Americans trust GM quality... regardless of how many improvements they've made to the quality control. I will never ever buy an American car again... American car manufactures have tarnished their once good reputations. The only way I'd buy an American car is if they had a no hassle lemon return policy the same one Walmart or even Best Buy has.
It never ceases to amaze me, America is in the business of making war and making war cheaper and faster. I still say the money would have been better spent building a WMD detector (one that works)
He's doing what any corporation would do to hard working people... every hear the phrase "read the fine print" how much crap do you think goes by un-noticed by the average consumer in "the fine print"? Then when you sign on the dotted line or give them your hard earned money "gotcha!" or how about when the RIAA decides to sue you wrongfully and you end up blowing thousands in lawyers fees to defend yourself? All because "they can"
I think the critics really need to stfu, I like Apple and I've always like their product but to expect a revision one to do everything is insane. If you look at any phone thats had a successor go back to their initial release and if they have everything that was current or cutting edge at the time. Even the ipod had revisions it wasn't until later generations of iPod did third party accessories start coming out. If this phone made an initial release in a country where 3G was standard across the board oh say ASIA than sure they'd pack 3G into it but since your stupid American telecom companies can't agree on a standard thats why they chose GSM. GSM is also prevalent where 3G is not. So before you complain bout no 3G blame you telco's for not picking one standard and sticking with it.

For example the iPhone didn't even make ripples in Japan...

"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
