Many computers manufactured in the last year or two (including some laptops) with adequate RAM and a dedicated graphics card (say 4+ GB RAM and 256+ MB graphics) can edit and render AVCHD. Sure, the more powerful the better. But what exactly makes AVCHD garbage? Can you take your tape and pop it into the computer and watch any part of any clip with no rendering needed? I didn't think so.

With AVCHD, I can record, then take the SD card right out of the video camera and put it in my computer, and fire up VLC and watch it in HD with no rendering or other steps needed. And the video quality is stunning.
I'd like to win this prize. I'd enjoy some relaxing games and some good gear to go with it.

Regarding the economy, we need more jobs, which means more money for small businesses, new and existing.
This gaming package would be a really nice item to win (lotto would be nicer, of course, but the odds are probably better in an Engadget drawing than in your local State Lottery...but you never know).

The way to fix the economy is to give small businesses all that TARP money to retain the employees they currently have, and more cash incentives for hiring more employees. That should knock down the unemployment rate by a nice amount.
Did it occur to the Engadget author (and many of you here), that it's probably a "stock" photo, and the actual adapter will likely look nothing at all like the one pictured?

As others have said, the 65W adapter that ships with the M1330 is smaller, and the Auto/Air Adapter is even smaller than the M1330s. It's hard to imagine why Dell would design a 45w adapter to look their old 90W adapters.

Dell may not design like they're located on NY's Madison Avenue, but they certainly have to know better than to design their power adapter for the Adamo, or any low-powered laptop, like that.
This would be really popular with someone I know - and better exercise value than those other ones.
looks really nice.
That's one nice looking WM phone. Can I have it?
I know someone who'd be really happy to get one of these.
looks sweet - I'll take one, please.
I'd be happy to win this pda phone.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
