Personally, I had no problems with my activation. And I'm on the West Coast, so the servers were in full swing. I'm reading people who are having troubles are the ones who need their number transferred over. And when they call AT&T they tell them that its their carrier holding things up. I've read one case where that was confirmed with what was eventually a conference call between the customer, AT&T and the customer's current carrier.

Makes one ponder, if this is the case... sabotage?
There's a reason why Dvorak spends his time telling other companies what they should and shouldn't do. Its because he is an idiot who's wrong 99% of the time, and if he were to try to run a company like Apple he'd fail before he could comb his hair.
Losers. Learn to read before spouting off your predictable anti-Apple bullshit. Yeah, Jobs is an arrogant prick. And Gates is an angelic loverboy. They're all the same. Get over yourselves.
I love all this bickering. Its so pointless its amusing. What you people don't understand is Apple loves this. They love that they show the world their idea for a mobile phone, and without even trying it, the world starts to feverishly copy it. They all have iPod syndrome.

Why is Apple loving this? Because when all is said and done, and the iPhone is released, as well as all of these other iPhone clones, it will be painfully apparent which product is superior. And Apple will once again show that they know how to build a solid product, while the rest of them know how to make something quick and cheap.

I laugh at the short term memory that plagues the internet. Does anyone ever think what Apple has done in the past? Does anyone remember that little device called the iPod? And how many copycats have come along to try to outdo the iPod? And how many of them succeeded? And whats so damn special about the iPod? Its just a square piece of plastic with rounded corners and a screen on it, right? Yeah, right.

Apple products might be shiny and sexy looking, but thats not what makes Apple products better than the rest. Its the whole end user experience. And if you don't get that by now you never will, and you should just go buy a Zune right now and call it a day.
Apple wouldn't have to patent every little thing if every little company (and big company) in the world didn't try to copy and steal their ideas every time they come out with a new product.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
