"guys would inevitably start scoping the bar for the easily amused"

na. Over 15 years of success has taught me just look for girls that smoke.
only boring people get bored.
why no mention of Orb? works awesome with iphone and windows media center. 1 time $10 cost for the app. also, full access to media/files on home pc hard drive. don't know much about slingbox, but from what i know, sounds like you get less features at more cost...
why would you put your account on vacation for 2 days?
no disrespect, but how many times is it gonna take you to learn your lesson? you sound like those online poker players that whine how rigged it is but keep playing online.
depending on frequency and character length of the search term you type in, it may take more than 8 taps to find the app if you use spotlight. i would definitely like a way to do folders. also, it would be nice to be able to arrange app icons in a "floating" manner on each page. also, allowing skins/themes would be great.
@Brian: your ipod app turns off the music when you switch to email or web browsing? you must have a defective iphone.
actually, i'm think palm's shitting bricks right now. i mean, sure the pre *looks* like it'll be good. but i find it funny when people compare the iphone to a product they have had zero hands on time with that isn't even out yet. uh.. sure. you're not "hating"
there are already many ereader apps with free and paid books. also, the amazon kindle app works with amazon ebooks.

my list other than what's already in the poll (no, my iphone isn't jailbroken):

1. email a weblink function built into safari

2. google maps with simple turn-by-turn (i can do without the voice prompts). i mean, come on. even my old s710 with winmo had a turn-by-turn that worked extremely well with msn live maps and a bluetooth gps.

3. ability to install theme/skin apps or create my own

4. ring tones of any mp3 in ipod app (i know. this one will NEVER be enabled)

5. phone number blacklist/whitelist functionality (to block telemarketers, or just allow certain people to call at certain times).

6. on-the-fly snooze length on alarm clock (option to select snooze for say, 5, 10, 20, 40 minutes)

7. less dropped calls

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
