The Kindle tries too hard to copy the paperback in presentation of material, with the disadvantage of an ugly form factor and high price.
This is not the future of the e-book.

Jul 22nd 2008 9:13PM Desktops will remain until I don't need to tether my CPU to: printer, scanner, external hardrive, 2nd monitor, PDA, mp3 player, TV input, etc.
The CPU is not the problem, it's all the debris you have to connect to, still mainly with cables.
I had a laptop that eventually became immobilized by a cobweb of accessory cables.

Feb 9th 2008 4:27PM Too big a screen-if you are going to use it for traveling, then a 13" screen is a burden, not a benefit. Opening this thing on econo class in an airplane, or even sitting at a restaurant table waiting for an airplane, would be no different than a "regular" laptop. They should have gone for 10" or less.
