- 25 & 30 fps option for compatibility with international video standards.
- Bring back the 8 mpix sensor. 15 doesn't make sense.
- Remove 1080p alltogether (sensor doesn't read fast enough. But maybe an 8 mpix sensor would?)
- Manual video settnings.
- Faster sensor "sweep time" to avoid the horrible "leaning jelly effect" or whatever the term is, the result of reading slowly from the sensor.
- Full 720p capture resolution. Not interpolated.
Great that the device is so accurate. That's a great place to start for developers. Eager to test it out.
It really looks fantastic! It's my dream synthesizer.
And it's real, I just hope they got manufacturing sorted out so they can start building this synthesizer when it's ready.

Would be interesting to know what processor(s) it's based on.
Great with that wide angle add on as a standard accessory!
I can't believe 720p is constantly ignored. It's like the perfect middle ground in these days when computer screens are the most likely screen home movies will be watched. 1080i is just big to handle and store for a lot of users, takes too much space and the interlace thing will always confuse most average consumers. Heck it's even a bit of a hazzle for prosumers and pros.

720p for the people Sony! Sanyo has undrstood this.
GPS? Couldn't care less..
1. Price it as an entry level computer. I don't like that it's kind of a luxury computer today. Would be a perfect entry level Mac for a lot of people.

2. Ensure that the mini display port can drive whatever external display is connected to it.

3. The new touchpad off course.
- A high end 13" MacBook with FireWire.
- Matte Screen. (If you say it's a non issue, speak for yourself. For me it's really an issue.) What about a matte glass surface? I'm sure it's possible.
- Rethink the black frame screen / aluminum body design. There's something that just doesn't quite match.
- Isn't it time for a Blu-Ray strategy?
- Include a DisplayPort to VGA/DVI adapter please. It's the least you can do.
This is a sad day. I love firewire. And even though I'm a pro user, (I actually need the graphics performance of the pro) I weep for all my friends in the following categories that for different reasons are not willing to buy the big brother MacBook Pro:
- Musicians
- Prosumers & enthusiasts
- PowerBook 12" lovers
- Hobby movie makers
- Pro movie makers, that just need a field computer sometimes
- All of us that recognize that FireWire gadgets often represent higher quality in all of its fields.

These are the people constantly ignored by Apple. Apple think of the crowd as Pros or Consumers. For them there's nothing in between it seems. They will never release any mid range products.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
