Nokia: leaks cause us major problems. Us: so get your act together. {Engadget}

Jun 21st 2008 12:59PM you have these horrible KOREAN phones from LG and Samsung because they are the only people else in the world using CDMA and not GSM :P Nokia being the largest GSM phone manufacturer in the world generally pushes its greatest products to GSM using countries.

I know, i know, AT&T use GSM but really?!

Get a real phone on a real network, ill stick to my N95 8GB nice smooth interface, no crashes and at least i can MMS :P

DVB-H to become European mobile video standard {Engadget}

Nov 30th 2007 3:29AM Actually, Harmonisation of EU voltages and electrical systems has already began, we now have the new Colour coding in cables (Grey, Brown, Blue, Green) Instead of Red, Black, Blue & Green

And we are now on 220v, the tolerance is being upped to between 210v - 240v iirc.

Actually most 3 signals do around 1mbps and 3.5g which is pretty standard now is upto 7.8mbps

Bowers & Wilkins cranks out iPod-lovin' Zeppelin speaker {Engadget}

Aug 3rd 2007 8:45AM B&W or Bowers and Wilkins make very high quality and usually most studio reference speakers.

They are waaaayyy better than anything Bang & Oulefson, they are a UK speaker manufacturer.

Freecom's MusicPal WiFi radio now on pre-order {Engadget}

Jul 13th 2007 11:00AM Why does no American radio stations make it useless? There are other countries in the world broadcasting internet radio too ya know :)

UK's CIS Solar Tower garners 390-kilowatts from the sun {Engadget}

Apr 21st 2007 6:04AM I live and work in Manchester and the tower has been complete for some time, CIS's headquarters are located in this building (New Century Hall). There are other CIS buildings with bigger wind turbines on them, I think it's a really good idea, and it's made the horrible looking building much more easier on the eye.

iTunes takes another fat probe from the EU: anti-competitive practices {Engadget}

Apr 3rd 2007 8:44AM I don't care about the pricing, i pay a premium for the convenience, it's not just Apple who price things disproportionately to the US pricing, but then again the markets are different.

I don't see where attacking people in the US or EU gets anyone, Apple look after their home market (the US) but if they are selling in the EU they should respect our laws and rights, just as the US Federal Government would expect from a EU company.

Also the fact that the store isn't available in some EU states is totally wrong it's your right as a EU citizen to buy a product anywhere in the EU!

iTunes takes another fat probe from the EU: anti-competitive practices {Engadget}

Apr 3rd 2007 4:59AM It's not the fact that we pay more for songs here than anywhere else in the EU, it's the fact that Apple are breaking our rights as EU citizens with regards to free trade.

I can buy items off Amazon.de with no restrictions, i can buy off Efnac.fr with no restrictions, why can't i buy a song off iTunes France? It's illegal.

UK regulator Ofcom considering phasing out analog radio {Engadget}

Dec 1st 2006 6:25AM Hold on, does anyone know of DAB for in-car systems that ACTUALLY work??? Most cars have traditional FM and even most new cars don't come with DAB. IT's a pretty bold move considering how many traditional FM units are out there.

UK scientists seek to restore sight {Engadget}

Jul 13th 2006 2:31PM Don't need to worry about the MPAA they don't have any power over here :)

Denon hits back at Steve's "grandiose statement" {Engadget}

Mar 20th 2006 7:18AM Denon distribute Mission Speakers outside Europe, they also use them on a lot of their systems (www.mission.co.uk) which make some awesome speakers. What does Apple know about sound quality? there is a lot of engineering that goes into making loudspeakers & amplification, may as well buy Jbl stuff.

Bose serves a purpose, they make some beautiful lifestyle systems but you can do better for your money it's all down to taste. I agree with Denon though on this one, nothing beats proper hifi even if you are using lowly 128kbps music files.
