How on earth can the iPhone be one of the "most widely popular phones the world has ever seen?" this is absolute rubbish!! in terms of actual handset (not just smartphone) don't you think the ~200 million Nokia 1100 should be classed as the "Most widely popular phones the world has ever seen"?

Apple can only dream of that sort of volume of sales.
Google are you kidding me? they would record all your calls and farm it off to the US and use it against you... no thank you!! anti-google! :)

Oh and by the way, most Android phones are HTC at the moment...

Seing as 3 and T-Mobile have a cell sharing deal and now T-Mobile and Orange would merge, this could mean that the coverage for 3, T-Mob & Orange customers could get a LOT better?
What people miss here and Engadget's xenophobic article about this is that Google is a foreign company (to England) who do not adhere to our DPA (Data Protection Act), WHAT RIGHT DO GOOGLE, AN AMERICAN company have to take pictures of my house and car and possibly myself and post it on the internet? NONE.
Oh please

1) The track he was trying to drive down USED to be a road
2) It was hardly a cliff
3) He didn't nearly die.

I have lots of family in Todmorden and know the area very well.
I don't see what's wrong? When America wants to do things by itself it's called patriotism and when Russia does it they are evil baddies in those cold war films.... get over yourself. Russia does what Russia wants, it's a big country and they have most of the gas supplies that everyone needs. Like it or not they are a HUGE power.

If only Europe would look at what Putin is doing in bolstering up his national manufacturing and do the same here.

I think it was very arrogant of dell, don't get involved in things you don't know about!
they have had these in bars for ages now!!
The article is all in Sterling (£) then why do you have to put the headline as US/CDN/AUS Dollars? PUT IT IN POUNDS!

That phone isn't the N95 8GB there are several phones with the CwM including the N95 8GB which is a far superior phone to the iPhone.
Nokias more than justify their price technologically but iPhone only justify's itself with the 'look at me factor' which is going away now anyway seeing as more and more people are getting them :)
why don't you mms or bluetooth me that pic of the guy opening his phone.... oh wait... u can't..... never mind
I've seen tonnes of Archos. They rule.

And it's Aston Martin :)
you have these horrible KOREAN phones from LG and Samsung because they are the only people else in the world using CDMA and not GSM :P Nokia being the largest GSM phone manufacturer in the world generally pushes its greatest products to GSM using countries.

I know, i know, AT&T use GSM but really?!

Get a real phone on a real network, ill stick to my N95 8GB nice smooth interface, no crashes and at least i can MMS :P
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
