I agree. The studio 15 is nice looking.

As far as build quality goes though, the unibody macbooks are the first laptops I've handled where there's ZERO flex when you pick them up. Even by a corner. They feel like solid lumps of metal. Hard to describe until you use them for a while.
Here's my take on it. In a laptop, for what I use it for, I'm not trying to find something with the best 'specs'. I don't use it for gaming, or for video encoding. For what I use it for, just about anything current generation is enough.

What do I want?

Battery life.
Nice screen.
Rock solid hardware.
Sexy so it looks nice at the coffee shop.

Going with cheap, plastic, and poorer screen quality just so I can divert resources into getting a faster processor, more memory, more drive space, and more graphics power runs totally counter to my goals in purchasing a laptop. That's build your own desktop and hide it under the table territory.
@W00t Try any Solar Casio G-Shock watch. They've been hiding the solar panel under the LCD display for years now. YEARS...p
This is SPARTAAAAAA!!!
(of course)
The touchscreen interface!
Don't forget to add in the approx $3000+ in taxes you would owe.
If you take into account the costs of doing a special production run of a new color, and distribution hassles of putting a new color into the channel, and the fact that they're not tacking on more to the price in order to make the contribution (the consumer doesn't have do pay more, they just have to be willing to buy red), and the fact that they're letting this cause piggyback onto a VERY high profile item...

I'd say it's really generous. It's not like anybody who wouldn't normally buy an ipod is going to get one just because of this. More likely, people who are in the process of purchasing will see the snazzy red, realize that it doesn't cost them anything to make a charitable contribution, and do so. And each time they do, it raises awareness and _costs_apple_money. In lost profit, in production changes, in distrubution network.

What do they gain? Publicity and some goodwill. Relatively fair tradeoff, given their existing relationship with U2 and Bono.
So the moral of the story is that if they had done even the slightest amount of preplanning and forethought, they would have gotten away with it, at least for till target got wise.

Let's see.
1. At the very very least a minimum level of disguise.
2. Take the time to swipe a few license plates from the parking lot. Drive a few blocks, slap a new one on, drive to the next Target.
3.umm.. Profit?

The fact that they got out of the store with that many iPods is what amazes me.
Ditto on "Where can I find that apple skin for the Treo?"
Funny how Sony uses their own cells but has no problems, huh? Guess they've been keeping the good ones for themselves.

Or. Intentionally making everybody else's laptops go boom.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
