Teenager hit by train whilst texting, somehow survives {Engadget}
Aug 23rd 2007 4:40AM I honestly think you should give the kid a break. Granted, what happened was stupid and unfortunate, but the facts actually aren't that bad: He was waiting for the first train to go by so he really couldn't see or hear the second train; The first train was blocking his view and covering the sound of train number two. So, he went ahead after train one passed him. And BAM, train two comes out of hiding and hits him. Absent-minded, yes - but that's about it.
Quite frankly, every single person writing here has done something really idiotic and said afterwards, "damn, that was stupid; glad nothing happened." Unfortunately for this kid, something happened.

Aug 4th 2007 12:36PM I long for the days when wars will be fought entirely by robots on both sides. It'll be so entertaining for both sides to just sit back and watch that they'll forget why they're fighting in the first place.

Emotive's Push Ringer overrides ringtones; pranksters overjoyed {Engadget}
Apr 21st 2007 5:07PM of course you could disable it. DUH! can you imagine how many people would freak if this was standard...
BUT, I think it's awesome if you're into it... I mean, you know exactly who's calling cause of their ringtone... I personally don't have the time to customize all my ringtones in my phone and this would just be a cool way around that... and the people with annoying rings... well, I'll just delete them from my phone cause who really wants to be friends with people with irritating ringtones? sheesh!
SimpleTech announces 512GB and 256GB 3.5-inch SSD drives {Engadget}
Apr 18th 2007 6:49PM yeah, it's known that they're not new. What's new is the size. BitMicro only goes "Up to 155.6 GB." 512 GB > 155.6 GB.
Hands-on with the Nokia N95 {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 12th 2007 5:24AM yeah, nokia also said that they're gonna release this phone called the n75 in december '06... it's not around yet, so I'd be really surprised if the US HSDPA version of the n95 was out anytime soon.
zBoost cellphone booster comes in under $100 {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 7th 2007 3:32PM I had the 2 band version for 300 and it worked for 30 seconds, and then stopped working for 30 seconds... alternating like that... I'm thinking the single channel versions could be better. Who knows.
Nokia's N95 now shipping... everywhere but here {Engadget}
Mar 23rd 2007 3:49PM I've had my N73 for a couple months and not only is it by far the best phone I've ever had, it's the best camera I've ever had cause it's always with me. I've actually had someone spill beer on it and drop it from 5 feet up and it didn't even flinch. No reboots either. I'll admit, it's slower than I'd like, but that's a small price to pay. Can't wait to upgrade to the N95. Perhaps the one with problems had some bad aftermarket software installed?
