How exactly would this violate antitrust? (Answer a: It wouldnt!)
OMG, run for the hills.. we have TWO reports of a problem with the power cable! OMG, like totally!

Cut the freaking drama, and stop with the trolling posts. I see enough of that on other sites, and quite enjoy that it hasnt been happening here recently. I just spent the past week going over TUAWS 500 back pages, and see some of these dramatic posts.. and you know what? All of them were drama.

I am neither a Apple fanboy, or antifanboy.. I am fan of cool tech, and the Macbook is by far the best laptop Ive owned, ever. So instead of hanging with the lowest levels of bloggers (the dramatic whiners), why not just report the news.
I am sure that everyone in the "1984" universe agreed that the cameras were for a good reason... until they were told they were a good reason and believed it.
So.. whats so special about this?
While Apple discovered it, its really just Washingtons way of getting more money for their horribly misguided government.

WA may have no income tax, but they sure as heck tax everything else.
"can be quite offensive and hurtful."

While I dont agree with Dick on his comments, your reply is a joke. We cant live our lives worrying about whether we hurt or offend someone.. because everything we do hurts and offends someone. Live your life for yourself, not for the press.
This guy sounds like a marketing tool (and I mean HE is the tool).. and while EL surived in its day, I somehow doubt that this will do well.

These are not "webtv" units as mentioned. While WebTV was purchase by Microsoft a few years ago, the new MSNTV unit is quite a bit better than the old classic boxes. Its faster, has broadband access (thank god) and is completely running on a Windows Backend.

The older WebTV units are slower, use only dialup and are integrated with a mostly Unix backend.

I wouldnt mind having a MSNTV unit near my tv, so I could be totally lazy and surf the web when I needed to.. but thats about it.

They are great for folks as entry devices, or low cost solutions for those folks who cannot afford a full blown computer.

As for getting them for a breeze.. well thats questionable. A lot of the stuff on ebay is the older WebTV stuff.. not the newer box as seen above.

What this guy did was awesome. Good work!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
