New rules!

I have GV and then got two invites. I sent one and the other is just sitting there as I am pondering what lucky friend would get it.

Im sure there are many more GV users that you anticipate considering it was Grandcentral before.
Look..

I have an iPhone and a G1.

Both phones have their pros and cons.
However I will still say the iPhone is one of the best phones I have ever owned.
Having owned numerous PDA phones in the past and comparing them. The iPhone has the best polish of any interface.
The G1 is sometimes sluggish just scrolling the application list or call list.
This is something I never saw on the iPhone.
The G1 has a physical keyboard that I can actually say I now prefer to touch screen keyboards.

If it weren't for the fact that I grew tired of waiting for a known good jailbreak/unlock then updating/unlocking/jail-breaking only to find another iPhone update was coming out a month or two later. Id still be toting my iphone. (That and 3G I have a 1st Gen iPhone).

So stop calling people that have iPhones Apple fan boys. People have preferences.
I am a geek. I am a software engineer that studied electrical engineering for heavens sake.
I like to tinker and hack.
I am no "idiot".

The iPhone for me has a great interface and quite honestly look wonderful.

I don't think anyone can slam ANY phone until they have actually used one for more than 2 weeks.
(Even if the Palm Pre doesn't look inviting to me. I'm NOT slamming it)

Maybe one day the Android OS will appeal to me in the same manner.
For now I'm happy that I can code a JAVA app for my phone over night and share it with friends without having to put it on the app store.

It may as well be this...
Does this thing get WKRP?
Youtubes videos in HD are not even close to HD.
Too many ppl sling the term HD around.

A majority of music videos werent stored in HD until recently.
Even when they were shot on HD they were still on DVD quality when given to the stations or distributed on promo discs.

I don't want this game.
I never win contests.
Make me a winner.
I'll visit here more.
I promise to play.
I'll tell friends.
I'll click ads.
I wont cry.
Please.
But.
If
Maybe,
Possibly,
The is a better...
I mean much better
Recession antidote prize.
Then ignore this & send that one.
This thing is elusive.
My favorite post would have to be...

Engadget does into the future to get an Optimus Maximus keyboard.

Night typing has never been so good.
Well picking a post is difficult, but the most memorable for me was the first iPhone photo.

Meanwhile...
Lets get this 360 party started!

Uhh
Actually, of all the places to buy camera equipment Ritz is actually the best place I have found.
Except for the price (unless the item is on clearance and has been for a while).

In most cities that have a Ritz or Wolf, one of the stores is the pro store and the employees are actually photographers.
I have found many of them to be very savvy.
I was in the Ritz in Sarasota, FL (Tamiami Trail location) and they are pretty sharp. One of the guys I dont prefer but all in all they know way more than the advanced consumers and run with the pros.

What made Ritz unique is the have a store policy that allows you to really try out the equipment.
It made a world of difference when I purchased my last camera body as I was trying to decide whether I should switch to a different camera system (brand). Their policy is you can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase.
No restocking fee.

Sure you can buy stuff online.
Read reviews and generally not participate in your local economy, but this is yet one other reason the economy is where it is.
A majority of that savings you saved, whether in taxes or lower price, didn't go to a local retailer or to sales tax.

I can't place much blame as I have several online retailer favorites myself.
On the liquidation...
I pretty much lurked at Circuit City while it was being liquidated and it wasnt till the prices were at 30-40% off that they were competitive with online.
Since the advantage of buying locally was to be able to bring the item back the local store, it made no sense to purchase till the item was MUCH cheaper than I could buy online.
So...
Before you go crazy on buying from Ritz... Do your research ...
Bring your web enabled phone and CHECK PRICES PEOPLE..
Geez..
Besides most of their inventory will end up on eBay anyway...

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
