Or, be smart and refuse to buy any music with Digital Restrictions Malware...of which Amazon has none.
It's a UMS player that's cheap. What the hell were you expecting? Very few players in that class support ID3 browsing. If this was such a worry to you, you shouldn't have bought it.
It isn't Creative's fault that you're unable to organize your files correctly. If you had actually put the albums in folders as it said in the instructions, the Zen Stone Plus would have played them that way.
$254 for 32GB of Flash, X-Fi, and an SDHC slot? I was torn between this, a Zune 80, and a Cowon A3, but I think I'm sold.
Gamestop.
The lack of Char Aznable branding on the red one makes me cry.
No Char Aznable branding for the red one? I'm crushed.
I ate a cheeseburger at a PETA rally.
Still not worth it. I can get a Zen Stone Plus with 2GB, a screen, an FM Radio, and a universally used connector for $55.
No, but this is in now way deserving of a patent. It's not only obvious, but it's been done before. Our patent system is in dire need of reform. Stupid stuff like this can be patented, and the worst offense, software patents, are so vauge and overreaching you can have twenty different patents on one idea.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
