"...Knight Rider is probably the worst show ever in the history of the moving picture..." Oh.. then I'll just assume you haven't seen "New Amsterdam" ..which, I believe, was also put out by NBC. Truly terrible. Gah.
Sean Cooper,

Please make the correction. This device is NOT put out by (US computer producer) OQO as suggested in the article. I have in my hands the OQO Model 02. The Logos of my device and this Chinese Clone do NOT match (Specifically, the font of the Q differs from the original).

You may want to clarify to avoid confusion.

I admit, it looks great.

I was considering it for a time, but the placement of the power key really does bother me. It's placed WITHIN the keyboard, directly above the backspace key.

Now, though I would assume they've planned for scenarios where this could cause problems, if not it may be quite a turn off (Pun!) to some.

Well, just for clarity, I did not mean it as an insult at all, rather, it was a quote from "Three Amigos," an 80's comedy film. I think of it every time I see "Plethora." Your usage was not incorrect.

Sorry for the confusion!
Hmm.. I'm curious as to why one would be "anti-Amazon." Not the wal-mart effect, as the only other real bookstores in business currently are just as big (i.e. Borders, BN), so it must be another reason, no?

Not trying to argue with you, I was just honestly curious.
Sidepocket,

Your argument doesn't really make much sense..

"See, even though Sony fucked up with PS3, they did one thing right: They keeped the PS2 around. They are not forcing you to upgrade to the new expensive system to which the overall fun value is not really an upgrade. You still have Gears of War, Guitar Hero and such."

Ignoring the fact that Gears of War is not a ps2 title, what your saying is exactly what MS is doing. No, sony is not forcing you to upgrade to the PS3.. unless you want to play PS3 games. Ahh, eh? You could even replace a few words in your initial post to match exactly:

"See, even though Microsoft fucked up with Vista, they did one thing right: They keeped XP around. They are not forcing you to upgrade to the new expensive OS to which the overall fun value is not really an upgrade. You still have Many existing and future games which work on XP."

Then you said this: "Microsoft says: You wanna game! DirectX 10 only works on Vista because we say so! Games for Windows because we say so! Live because we say so! Oh, and do not go to those alternatives...we made them "illegal wares" to the US government!"

First, Games for Windows is not vista only, it's a branding of PC games adding certain requirements (Good ones, such as widescreen support) in order to boost the PC games market.

I'm not sure what Your comment on "illegal wares" is really referring to, so I'll ignore it.

The rest is really their choice. They decided, instead of giving users of their 5 year old OS ALL features of the new OS for free, they would hold some things back that would encourage people to upgrade. You aren't FORCED to upgrade unless you want that new feature, it's not like they suddenly took Directx9 away until you bought Vista. People need to realize that this really isn't something odd that MS is doing, Many software companies do this. They support their product, perhaps add some features, but when they feel it's time, they'll bundle many other new features into a new version of their product and sell it as a 2.0.

Almost EVERY feature in ANY 2.0 software product COULD be added to the original program and given as a patch.. but it's only wrong when MS does it? Odd.

Does this make sense to you?
Actually, another commentor claimed to have worked on the set of The Island and stated that the doctor's table was in fact product placement, in a sense, on the part of microsoft to excite interest in such a futuristic looking device. It happens often in movies, (for instance, Sony phones/notebooks in the new bond movie, OQO in MI3, etc.) so, though it could have been completely incorrect, it does sound reasonable. No?
"it's already been proven that most cops are bullies."

Proven, eh? So, it's a fact then? I must have missed that episode of Mythbusters because I really can't recall anyone ever PROVING that the majority of police officers are in fact power-hungery, abusive bullies (taking from elsewhere in your comment).

Now, I could be wrong, but I have the strange feeling that it's actually opinion that you're talking about. A pretty silly one at that. Just because you know some officers which, in your opinion, are the above, doesn't mean all or most officers are the same way. If, say I knew three people of minority 'a' and they were all drug dealers, would it be correct for me to say it's proven that most people of minority 'a' are drug dealers? ..yeah.. that would be wrong, but no different than what you're doing.

These would be more apt to be facts:

Cops are put into a position of authority, some abuse it, some people hate figures of authority, people are like children, someone has to police a population to keep those with low morale in line.
With all due respect, I don't understand what the author is trying to get at here?

"When authority figures use the games one plays as the yardstick to decide who's a threat and who's not, something's broken."

With the possible exception of the last portion, where a school reviewing of his punishment was not given (it should have been), I don't see what went wrong here...

This man recreated his school in a realistic video game where the point is to kill your enemies (were custom models used as well? If so, that's another sad strike). Then he shared it(!) and actually used it in hostage/bomb settings! Entirely stupid acts when combined. It was a perfectly just act to investigate this upon realizing what he had done and, until it was proven he hadn't meant any harm, remove him from the school. It's bad luck that this happened so close to his graduation, but that's the way things went down.

He created something involving his school with an implication of violence at the school caused by he and his friends.. If he had written a book of fiction (or even a movie) where an insane student (played by him) snapped and went through the halls of a his school shooting people, or planting bombs inside it, the book would have been treated the same way. He would have been removed until, in that case, a physciatrist found he was of no danger to those around him.

Any minority would have been treated the same in this case, especially if he showed previous signs of being either antisocial (many high school students do) or just generally closed off. If he was black, then the black community would have the same "concerns."

I'm as much of a gamer as the next guy, but you have to realize, gaming is an interative medium, it's precieved as being different from reading print or watching movies, which are traditionally rather passive mediums.

Oh well.. I'm sure few agree with me here, but this is how I feel about this situation. Just because I play games doesn't mean I'm blind to outside views. The kid should have known.
Why do you have to go and badmouth the US government when it clearly ruled in opposition to the Intellectual Property Alliance's charges in this case?

If much of the worlds media came out of canada, it would be your governments problem dealing with these groups instead of ours, and positions would be reversed very quickly. Your point of view is most certainly shared by many in the US, there's no need for such silly insults.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
