Warrior XXXtreme: the hardcore pr0n surfing keyboard.

now with x-treme splash protection!
well, i still use my Blue-and-White G3 Mac that was manufactured in 1998. so, i think "obsolete" is a relative term. if you are, as the article says, using your laptop primarily for games, on-the-go video editing, or other *really* high end stuff, then you might have done better to wait. otherwise? you could easily keep that MBP for years and have it do exactly what you want.

don't be sad. some of us can't afford MacBook Pros at all! ;)
um. okay. so let's look back on the comment thread, and see what "points" you are "outlining":

"At least hundreds of iphone idiots, Apple employees and stockholders" [care about the iPhone]

.. my response? i agree. people who care about Apple care about the iPhone. you'll get nooooo argument from me, Captain Obvious. as far as them being idiots? well, i already called you a troll, so i think that point was addressed.

"It really shouldn't have to be charged – as someone else said before me “It's the first phone powered by Hype”"

... i have no response to that. sorry. it's just too stupid to be worth the trouble.

"This thing is based on Touchscreen technology – first developed in the 1970's – for you iphone idiots, that's over 3 decades ago."

... no argument about the factual nature of your statement. however, i'd point out that the iPhone is *also* based on, um, PHONE technology, which began to be developed in the late 1800s. i fail to understand how this is relevant to ANYTHING. instead, it seems less of a "talking point" than a "trolling point," and yet another excuse for you to use the your little "iPhone idiots" pet phrase. no one's claiming Apple created touchscreen technology. if you can find someone who is making that claim---by all means, correct them. but you won't find that on Engadget, so take your hang-ups elsewhere please.

"The abbreviation for Corporation is Corp.
The abbreviation Incorporated is Inc.

They both refer to a legal entity known as a Corporation and therefore are interchangeable terms."

... i would not argue for a moment that the two TERMS are interchangeable. when you're discussing the name of a company, however, they are not TERMS anymore. they're names. Apple Inc. is a company, and Apple Corp. is a company. they are NOT the same company. if you were to open a phone book and call "Apple Corp." asking to talk to Steve Jobs, they'd laugh at you and hang up. because it's NOT THE SAME COMPANY. what the hell is so difficult to understand?

i think what's actually happened here is that you accidentally used a term that you thought was interchangeable, without realizing you were referring to another corporate entity altogether by doing so. and i think that you're a person who doesn't like to be told he's wrong, so you'll troll on the same stupid point over and over again until the rest of the internet gives up on you. like i will, right after this post.

"Ahh yes.. the tired and vague Implementation argument."

.. "vague" and "tired" are your opinion, and i can't help but noting that you don't reference any past examples of this argument being used, in order to back up your assertion.

if it's a "tired" assertion, what has made you tired of it? or are you just making broad generalizations about the opinions of "people" you believe MIGHT disagree with you? that's what's called a straw-man argument; and it's a weak one at that.

i'd also point out that ANY assertion relating to the *implementation* of the iPhone's touchscreen technology, from a consumer perspective, as of June 20, 2007, is NECESSARILY going to be vague. who exactly do you think has actually USED one of these devices, and would therefore be qualified to comment on its implementation? yeah, i thought so.

so. um. .... what were these "points" you "outlined" again? did i miss anything?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Inc

they're different companies. there was a huge lawsuit deal over it a couple years back. look it up.

now get over yourself, STFU, and -- for the love of GOD -- please find something more fulfilling than trolling Engadget. because that's exactly what you're doing. trolling. look that one up as well:

but MOST "Mac haters" *don't* have a "pretty good reason." & that's *exactly* the problem. if you actually read the comments above, fully half of them are from people bitching about "higher prices" and "lower quality" as compared to PC laptops (which they already OWN, either by their own admission or by the implication of their comparison); others talk about the "huge problem of switching" to OSX, and how everything they already do "requires" Windows.

these are NOT the arguments of people who have actually PURCHASED Macs and USED them for significant periods of time. they are the arguments of people who, for one reason or another, have a completely biased opinion of Macs without ever having fully experienced them.

it's really unfortunate that you had a problem with your Mac laptop... but, as you stated, quite correctly, a Mac laptop computer is *still* a laptop computer. and laptops can break, or fail, or otherwise have manufacturing defects that make them unreliable. ALL laptops are subject to this (.. & don't tell me Dell is any better, i've owned two of them and have had failures in BOTH).

no one is claiming for a second that a Mac is some magical mystery box that runs on Jesus and rainbows and wonder. most "Mac fanboys" are just people who -- like me -- have gone out on a limb, given Macs a shot, and decided that they genuinely had a better experience with them. and no matter what long-winded arguments you'll see to the contrary---it's that PERSONAL experience that matters, and is also the reason Apple is still in business.

no, Macs are not perfect. by no means. and no one with half a brain has ever tried to say that they are. .... but they're also not worth NEARLY the volume of unkind -- and, in most cases, totally UNFOUNDED -- criticism that they receive constantly on blogs like Engadget.
wow, the internets have given rise to a new Beavis and Butthead, and thy name Mac-basher. "huhuhuhuh, APPLE SUX!!1!1One. omg pwned!!"

.. while i can totally understand LIKING a company, and being genuinely interested in their new products and offerings... this notion of taking time out of one's day to seek out pro-Apple articles, solely for the purpose of BASHING them? seriously, what the hell? srsly, even.

if you don't like Macs, STFU and move along. there are *hundreds* of other things going on in the tech world, which means you can happily avoid doing your job ALL DAY without needing to come to Apple news and TROLL it.

do you M$ fanboys reaaaaaally think that your way of seeing/doing things is the only correct *possible* way? that the world would be better off if everyone bought Dells? ... and, moreover, do you think you're going to convince anyone else of that by making mean-spirited comments anywhere that has the *audacity* to post Apple news? i mean, wow. i think that says a lot about the type of people you are.
no... built in... webserver..?

why would you NOT include that?
ahhh, of course! the device that you HACKED isn't doing what you HACKED it to do, therefore, Apple *must* have some insanely evil conspiracy against you. it's the only natural conclusion!

... or you could be an idiot. yeah, wait. i think i'll go with the second option.
awhile back i had a hard drive randomly fail... i'm almost certain it was from power problems. since i bought a UPS last summer (mine was made by CyberPower, not Ultra, however), i've been amazed at how many times the "voltage regulation" function kicks in. i've had no component failures since then, and survived quite a few brownouts. now i consider a UPS an absolute must-have, especially for older places like mine where the electrical wiring is less than reliable.
i'm just amazed at the "Zune fanboys" who had nothing better to do than read a whole article/comments thread about an Apple product, apparently for the sole purpose of bitching about "Apple fanboys".

waaah waaah waaah, i hate apple! dude. then go buy a Dell. believe it or not, the people who are buying Apple products -- and thus, presumably, the only ones who should really be expected to care about things like new iTunes releases -- aren't going to read your comment, think to themselves "oh, my god, i've been wrong this whole time!! THANK YOU "cupajo" for showing me the LIGHT!" and run to the nearest Best Buy to shuck their dirty Mac overskins.

dear gods. it's people like you that make me BELIEVE the "I'm a Mac/I'm a PC" commercials. where the PC is a silly old prick who can't get over himself.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
