SOURCE: E3

Nintendo made a huge announcement regarding the Wii’s next Mario game at this year’s E3. In response to the uproar from Wii fanboys regarding the lack of non-casual titles, Myamoto announced the latest Mario game, Mario Warfare. Warfare is to be based upon Epic’s Unreal Engine and is said to take advantage of the engine to produce real time blood effects and possibly “location specific” damage.

Myamoto has described his latest masterpiece as a first person adventure taking place in an expansive Mushroom kingdom, where you are called upon to liberate the oppressed subjects and bring democracy to the war torn land. Early builds are being described as Killzone meets Grand Theft Auto, but with koopas. An early look highlighted Mario’s main finishing move dubbed the “Mario jump attack,” which has Mario using his patented jump attack to flatten his enemies in blood splattering 480i.

Myamoto believes that the next step in the Mario saga is in first person and stated, through his interpreter, “It’s about time that Mario grew up. Who wouldn’t want to disembowel koopa troopas with the Wiimote.”

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
