Vizio's 42-inch VP422 plasma gets reviewed: you get what you pay for {Engadget}

Jul 16th 2008 10:19PM Vizio SD signal processing is amazing compared to the competition.

In my experience, one of the unsung hero's of Vizio's product is their incredible SD processing.

Many HDTV's in the sub-3000 range look good with HD content, but many look so-so or horrible when displaying SD content.

Vizio's $1000+ TV's blow the competition up to the $3000 range out of the water for SD content display quality.

You have to go do a high end Sony Bravia $4000+ TV to get something that beats the Vizio SD quality.

Remember, that a large % of the content is going to SD for a long time, and frankly the display quality of SD is almost as important to me as the HD quality.

And I got news for whoever wrote this, anyone who is a REAL VIDEOPHILE and hangs out places like AVSForum knows the Vizio's require a specific set of tweaking of the factory settings to look awesome.

Since they are ONLY covering it because there is a black man running, then I assume this means that its ok for the 'white' stations to just cover the republican convention and ignore the democratic one."

After all, CNN's viewers are 90% white, and the only white guy is at the republican convention.

Why is pure deliberate racism so very acceptable on the other side?

Jul 9th 2008 9:46AM I wonder how these people feel about the 'fairness doctrine' that the liberal democrats are always cheering for??

Opps.. 10% not 100.

May 27th 2008 10:51PM The computer market is not one big market, there are many segments.

Apple is dominating some OVER PC's.

I am guessing that MAC's are gaining huge market share numbers in the home market, and Microsoft is hiding behind the large numbers of business sales.

That is probably just a head-in-the-sand technique to deny the reality of the radical shift occurring in the home user market.

For example, Apples might have a total of 100% marketshare over all, but that could mean 50% of the home computer market and only 5% of the business market.

May 27th 2008 10:43PM Yeah, thats what I said... Search.

Multiple conditions does not make it 'not search' or 'more than search', its just a big "AND" statement.

May 27th 2008 10:42PM Wow...I can't wait until they demo all those great NEW DRM FEATURES to help keep us from doing the things we really want to do with our media.

Thats what REALLY gets me excited about new versions of Windows...all the stuff they add so you CANT do things.
