On, but at the lowest volume setting.

I like them, of course my problems with the cable co supplied DVR have absolutely nothing to do with a lack of cute sounds.

More important question...

Do you own a TiVo or other, and do you regularly watch live TV?

I find that TiVo owners watch almost no live TV, and cable co box users watch mostly live TV only using the DVR when there are simultaneous shows.
I always had the best look with an HTPC, it was the only thing I could find that would play everything.

I used to use beyondtv as the frontend.

Unfortunately when I made the jump to HD I went with a PS3 and a TiVo S3. Both do what they are supposed to do well, but neither streams media as reliably or simply as the old htpc.
Fire Justin McElroy!
You are boycotting a game that has been out for 9 months because of something you read today?

What's next, you going to suspend your campaign?

You do realize that Obama isn't the President now right?

Do you ask the guy on the street talking to himself about investment banking?
Sony, I am begging you, please stop developing new stuff for the PSP.

I already bought the PS3, and I have been diligently sinking money into games and BD movies.

But enough already, I don't want to purchase another device!

Please do my wallet a favor and stop adding to the value of that little beauty!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
