Feb 5th 2009 4:02PM I think you misunderstand, even if our damage mitigation OVERALL ends up the same it will only do so if we are constantly attacking things.

Passive mitigation (armor bonus from a talent) has now been morphed into active mitigation (damage shield from crits).

It now requires more effort to get the SAME overall mitigation. That is my point.

If that extra effort gave us overall MORE mitigation, I would not be complaining but Bliz themselves said this was going to even it all out.

Feb 5th 2009 3:30PM Hey. So check it out. My armor will go down. They say this ability is supposed to EVEN that out. Here is why I doubt it:

1. If I'm mangling, mauling, and swiping things per a vanilla trash fight or boss fight, I would imagine this ability would grant us right around the same mitigation overall as before the change.
2. If I'm NOT mangling, mauling, and swiping things during a fight I am now taking more damage than before this change.

So just the ACT of taking a passive damage reduction and turning into damage reduction that depends on use of other abilities to be active is the definition of a nerf, in my eyes.

If I am stunned, or feared, or otherwise cannot attack or just not attacking at all because I have to stop DPS for bane, because the mob is too low on health and we need to keep it alive for a while for some reason, I am now taking more damage than I was before this change went through.
