OK, so it's cheaper for the company to have this guy sitting in a car for 9 hours than to fly him to D.C. first class? I doubt it. I'd say taking two days to drive back and forth is more irresponsible to the company than paying for a first class plane trip.
I can't imagine why a bunch of people in a successful industry would want to hear the chairman of a failing company speak. Is he going to warn that the electronics industry needs to be careful that it doesn't go the way of the domestic auto manufacturers? This is very puzzling to me.
Thank-you for labeling so many of the pictures. I wish you would do that for all of these types of galleries. Great shots.
Just got one of these a week ago (as mentioned before they've been available in Canada for some time) and I love it. I too was favoring the Fit until I drove the two of them back to back. The Fit engine is very un-Honda, it's almost as thrashy sounding as a domestic 4. Plus I found the ride on the Fit to be a bit bouncy.

And the gauges? It took me about two days to get used to them and I don't mind it at all.
Interesting, I'm not sure I like it but I'll never be able to afford on anyway.

However, my initial reaction was that it looks a lot like a 4-door Jensen Interceptor. So I went to take a look at some Jensen pictures and discovered that Jensen outsourced the design of the Interceptor to a third party. Who?
Carrozzeria Touring.
Why is it that so many people who posts here think that they know more than anyone else?

@Vintage - Show me where you got your quote. I don't see it in either the Autoblog post or the Bentley press release. I see "will provide phenomenal sound quality", which has a completely different meaning than your mystery "better sound quality".
Do you not think it is possible that a company like Naim would have thought about what happens to the sound in the cabin of a car? Oh, look, apparently they did - "To achieve these ambitious targets, Naim began by undertaking the most advanced acoustic analysis of the cabin areas of every Bentley model – in both hard-top and convertible guise – in all road conditions." Now maybe you know something we don't, like they lied and didn't do all this work, if so please let us know.

There are some really knowledgeable people that post here, can we not let those people post so that they actually contribute something of value to this site and leave the ego posts and trolls to other sites?
Someone told me there was something else on the world-wide web thingy other than Engadget. I didn't believe them.
Would it be possible for you guys to label some of the pictures? I'm no VW afficionado and it would be nice to know what I'm looking at (rather than, oh there another Karmann Ghia).
A lot of what is in this book is about taking everyday occurrences and pulling them together to find some form of commonality. While unscientific and completely open to interpretation it doesn't mean that it can't work.
I work in IT and everyone these days are trying to do the same thing. Take information from a number of disparate systems and find some kind of trend.
Why knock an auto manufacturer for looking outside the box? Even if the only conclusion they come to is that they need to focus on quality processes, cost accountability, and great design, it would be worth it no matter how they arrive at that conclusion.
At this point for either Ford or GM, what have they got to lose?
I spoke with a RIM rep here in Canada about the WiFi on the 8800 and his response was two-fold. First, they hadn't yet gotten approvals from the necessary regulatory bodies but they still wanted to release it on schedule. Also, they are having battery issues with all of the radios that are in it plus WiFi. They battery life in the 802.11 equipped ones isn't yet up to what they would like it to be.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
