I've been waiting for something to replace annoying car alarms. It could be a winner if it's small, inconspicuous, and works while the car is in motion. (although, as mentioned, it's useless if the car is stolen).
The Tesla website will unveil the car on July 20th:

Here's the real thing in Sausalito, CA:

Given the MG comments above, it was interesting to note that the tail lights were stamped "Lucas-made in England", and looked to be the same ones used on early MGB's or Midgets.
One in 5000 of us have retinitis pigmentosa. That's more than a million. First we have trouble finding our seat in a darkened movie theater, then we knock over wine glasses that are right in front of us. Eventually we can't drive at night, and then we can't drive at all. This can happen to us quickly or slowly. It can happen when we're young or old. There's no cure.

Instead of looking forward to having a guidedog, now, perhaps, we can look forward to watching a video iPod.

I think cars with famous past owners are more desirable when they're not restored.
It would be more thrilling to sit on the same upholstery and hold the same steering wheel that Gus Grissom used.
The new grille is nicer looking. My 2004 Mini has the lower part of the grille on the top of the bumper to mimic the look of the original Mini. It's non-fuctional and purely cosmetic.
I think there's room in the car market for another small retro car.

My first car was a 1969 Bambina (that's what we called them). I couldn't afford a used mini. It was great around town, and had a cool canvas sunroof, but I never drove it on the highway. Too slow.

A contract. Seniority. Cost of living allowance. benefits. better wages. Representation. A political voice...

Pity about TVR though.
And when you run low on air, just fart in the tank. You'll be good for another mile.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
