Ok this is so lame. This is the DVD inside the player that was supposed to be playing the DVD. How do I know? Because I was taking a picture of it for NBR (link to story below) to write a review, and this guy was walking by when I was taking the picture with the tray open. He didn't talk to anybody and left very quickly, probably to have some more free cocktails. Don't drink and write.
I covered this laptop for Notebook Review.

The BD-R write and BD-RE write and read speeds are 1x, while BD-ROM read is 1.6x.

It's not 17.8". That was a typo on the supposedly unauthorized Canadian website which had other mistakes as well. For example, it does not come with Vegas Movie Studio. And it's 1080p, not i.
Why are they buying them "this year or next" when the census isn't until 2010? Do they really need 3 years to train, as the technology is getting cheaper and more dated?
Nice rug, I want one!!
I bought a $400 laptop from Dell this Christmas. It ended up being more like $380 after I sold the printer (and yeah, that's after taxes and shipping). And, manufacturers are working on $300 laptops for next Christmas, here in the US, so what's the big deal?
Hey! Yesterday, you locked your thread way before 24 hours, before I could throw my hat in the ring! Yes, hat, ring! Chomp!
My favorite feature is Engadget 1985:

- something that the old and the young can bond over, as I did with my boss at work! Aww!
One of my favorites recently is Switched On: When You Wish Upon A Star (http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/01/switched-on-when-you-wish-upon-a-star/).

I like it because it's really funny - joke after joke after joke, yay! :)
I liked Switched On: When you wish upon a star - funny!

(First page! :)
I thought Switched On: When you wish upon a star was pretty funny...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
