Axiom Audio goes to the wall with its T2 speakers {Engadget HD}

Aug 25th 2008 11:43AM I've not heard their in walls, but i can vouch for the quality and *value* of axiom speakers.
I have a pair of M3 fronts and a pair of QS4 surrounds and i universally get "this sounds as good as a movie theater" comments from friends who come over to watch movies.

Ask TUAW: Anti-virus, upgrading RAM, syncing computers, backup, file management and more {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 23rd 2008 4:40PM 1) A card reader is cheap and has the advantage of not requiring your camera to be one during use. I would highly recommend using a card reader instead of connecting your camera directly. You will likely also see speed improvements in transferring.
2) You cannot format a drive and preserve the contents.
You CAN backup the contents elsewhere, reformat and copy them back. I think that the PS3 can only read FAT32 not NTFS. Macs can read fat32 also (pretty much every OS can read fat32, which is why it is the defacto standard for removable media)

Aug 23rd 2008 3:56PM I'm for legalization of all drugs. In the netherlands fewer teens get high than in the US.

BUT, there are a small set of people who have panic attacks from THC. And it may be a trigger for psychosis in latent schizophrenics. No it won't kill them, but it can have a long lasting negative impact on their lives.

Poll: Are you intentionally delaying an HDTV purchase? {Engadget HD}

Aug 23rd 2008 3:49PM I have a 24" dell LCD that i use as a computer and for watching TVs and movies.

But it doesn't have HDMI. So.... my plan is to wait until my grant comes in and by one of the new dells (either 24 ro 27) that has hdmi and swap out the one i have at home.

what i really want is a mac mini that plays blu-ray and HDCP-DVI

Microsoft's Mojave Experiment "promotes" Vista -- Ashton Kutcher-style {Engadget}

Aug 5th 2008 8:45PM I'm not going to bash Vista since i have never used it.
But one of the big problems that people had was unsupported hardware. Obviously you won't experience that on a demo laptop handed to you by MS (ya, i know about the past famous MS demo fails).

Point is: having a good experience on a demo machine does not equal having a good experience upgrading from a working XP system to a not so working Vista system.

Delta to add WiFi to all domestic planes in 2009 {Engadget}

Aug 5th 2008 12:54PM If they only allow wifi during cruising but not takeoff and landing, that's about 20 minutes for a 1 hour flight. $10 for 20 minutes of web browsing.... no thanks. Maybe for a long flight, trans-atlantic or coast-to-coast.

Klipsch adds six models to its Palladium speaker lineup {Engadget HD}

Jul 13th 2008 5:34PM forget these overpriced speakers.
go to http://axiomaudio.com/epicmaster175.html and pick up an entire amazing surround sound system for about $1500.

I don't work for them. Go to the forums and see how loyal their customers are.
