A lot of people believe that this technology (hardwarewise) is dead already. Once 4-core CPUs become mainstream there will be little need for hardware accelerated physics. They may still be selling the API the way HAVOC does but it'll be run on one of the cores, no need for separate hardware. Just the way it's done on PS3 and Xbox360 - there is no separate hardware to run PhysX on PS3 and Xbox360

I just looked and Vista is still the only option for Dell's desktops:/ A.
Yeah, I'd like to see one in standard 2.5" form with SATAII so it could be used a a system disk in a laptop. Adam
Verizon is one of the lamest companies around but their cellphone service coverage is pretty damn good so I'm sticking with them. So I decided to give their wireless internet a try. I had it only for four days, but the coverage in Queens is spotty and slow, 30-40k. In Manhattan I'm getting 400-600k, nice, but I need it outside of the City most of the time. I know EVDO is new and limited but even the other two are very weak where I live. I will need to go and drive around this weekend to see what I can get upstate NY and on Long Island. It's really sweet to be able to get on-line from anywhere and I'll be even happy with 56k-like speed outside of the metro area as long as I can get the connection. However, because of not getting service in some areas of Queens and no EVDO at all in Queens my hopes for this working further out kind of dimished. Damn their 2-year contract! I'd keep it for a few months so I could travel around but I'm afraid to get locked into the contract just to realize that this stuff doesn't work when I need it. I have 10 more days to play with it though.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
