"It happened to Laguna Seca. People built houses near the track and were somehow surprised that the race track was there the whole time."

Stupidity should hurt
So people who live next to a race track that was apparently built in the 1920's are complaining about the noise?

Its like people who buy a house near an airport and then call up when low planes fly by. (Yes I own a house near and airport)
Well have you tried staples?
So when can we expect them to start sending SPAM to our web-enabled printer? Coupons? Ads? Once you've got widgets set up and access to the web, I'm sure someone will figure out a way to use it for advertising.

All Your Printers Are Bel.....
I fully understand, and hate the strangle hold the carriers have on the hardware in the US. When I bought my Treo 650 I purposely bought an unlocked GSM one, however when I needed to replace it and bought a Centro it was only available as an AT&T branded phone.

However, dispite the AT&T crapware that hogs my Centro's memory, AT&T doesn't (can't?) restrict me on what software I install.

If the new Palm OS requires me to buy apps from them, and they have to be approved, then I can't ever see myself (a ten+ year Palm user) buying another Palm. Too bad.
One of the reasons that Palm was so successful in the past was that you didn't need to hack anything or do anything special to put whatever you wanted on YOUR device. I've had Palms since 1997 and have always loved the idea of just getting anything you want anytime you want (even OS changes - remember HackMaster anyone?). The very thought that some code might not be "authorized" is completely counter to what made Palm great in the first place.

"The system is said to generate up to 30kw of green energy an hour"
How is using the engine in my car to generate electicity more green then using a power plant?

Isn't this really just an enclosed motorcycle? It has three wheels, and of course the motorcycle rules allow for no crash protection etc.

Rule #1, if you have to tilt the camera in all of your pictures to make it look cool...it doesn't look cool.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
