McCain backs $5000 tax break for Volt, others {Autoblog}
Jul 18th 2008 5:39PM Sweet Jeebus! $300 million dollar federal prize money paid by tax payers, a gas tax 'holiday' so our infrastructure deteriorates faster and job loses, and now on top of all that a $5000 tax credit for electric vehicles?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for this tax credit for the Volt and electric cars, but where the heck is McCain proposing to get all this money to support all this and our federal government from?

Jun 30th 2008 8:19PM I don't have pity for the line workers. They will probably still get paid upto a year for not working. I don't know of any other non-management job that gives that kind of severance. Thanks UAW!
Lutz: Volt will cost $40,000, first-gen will lose money {Autoblog}
Jun 19th 2008 1:30PM I own a house with a driveway and a garage. My daily commute is < 40 miles a day. The thought about running purely on electric and rarely going to the gas station tickles my mind. Plus, I'm diversifying the energy usage in the country and charging it durring non-peak time for cheaper electricity. These types of electric only plugin works perfectly.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who fits this category of customer.

Jun 19th 2008 1:24PM Seriously? Buying a beater may be economical from a pure financial sense, but its by far not the best idea for several factors. Two of them being emissions and safety. Buying a old CRX will omit more CO2 into the air and won't solve the enivornmental issues. And with all the advancement in safety technology the past 10 years, you'll most likely survive most accidents that you'll get instantly killed in an old sub-compact car.

Feb 7th 2008 12:39PM Since only brand new cars for 2008 model year can qualify. The Sebring and Caravan/T&C were default wins for their respective categories being that their the only contenders in their classes. Same for the F-series SD.

Dodge in danger of losing #1 minivan title {Autoblog}
Dec 10th 2007 2:24PM If you want to count the Dodge Journey as part of the minivan sales, then you might as well count in the Honda Pilot as Honda's minivan sales.
I wonder if Acura MDX + Honda Pilot + Honda Odyssey has a greater sales number than the Chrysler T&C + Pacifica + Dodge Caravan + Journey.
