Fanswag: win a custom Mass Effect Xbox 360 Elite [update] {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

Mar 21st 2008 11:35AM If I had this beautiful piece of art I would be able to finally play Bully on my 360. See I have one of those "old" 360's that according to Rock Star doesn't play nice. The freezing every 2-3 hours has relegated Bully to a dusty coaster.

I would also finally go back and get the rest of the Achievements I missed in Mass Effect!

Sony officially quits rear-projection TV production {Engadget}

Dec 27th 2007 8:51AM This is incorrect. Sony's line of Rear projection TVs has some of the best viewing angles out there. That along with the speedy 2ms response time, great blacks, and great color reproduction has led many videophiles to buy in to the SXRD lines. I will be very sad to see this line of TVs disappear.

Not everyone wants to hang a TV on their wall, especially one that has a 5-10 year life. RP TVs just need a new bulb and they look just like new.

RIP Sony RP TVs... We will miss you

Dead Rising: Frank gets free clothes again {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

May 31st 2007 2:20PM I wish they would release an unlimited mode where you health didn't go down :/

Windows Home Server, everything you need: features rundown, screens, hands-on {Engadget}

Jan 8th 2007 9:15AM Throw in dual nics, DHCP, NAT, DNS, and a firewall and you might have something. If not it's an overblown(probably expensive) NAS device.

I'm also assuming that prices will be ridiculous. I'm basing my assumptions on the "certified" windows media center PCs out there. I'm expecting nothing sub $1000 for a few years.

Sigh.

Superman Returns now on Xbox Live Video Marketplace {Engadget HD}

Jan 2nd 2007 10:10AM Ok, so I decided to d/load this last night.

HDTV - Check
12 Meg download pipe - check
lots o MS points - Check

5 hours later I was still only at 30%.. grr.. MS should implement a pre-cache option for movies you may want to watch so you can cache some data before you purchase a video.. or maybe.. use some of that Super wmv streaming capabilities we always hear so much about.

I dunno.. I love the Idea, but the implementation still has some bugs that will never surpas VOD, or cable/satellite offerings. It removes the capability for an impulse buy..

Get SmackTalk on the cheap! [update 2] {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

DIRECTV's magical, disapearing high-def station {Engadget HD}

Sep 25th 2006 12:24PM ColourSource:
There is a limit to the amount of bandwidth they can send throught the current satellite technology they have. It's the equivilent of saying you want the same amount of water coming out of a fire hose to come out of your garden hose. The hose just isn't big enough to handle the same amount of water. DirecTv is throwing up more satellites, and converting to Mpeg4 compression to try to get more bandwidth, but it takes time, and until it happens they will continue to have thes issues.
