1. turn off your MB or MBP
2. take out the battery
3. press power button for 5 sec
4. put battery back in
5. power on but as soon as you press power button, press the following: "apple key" + option + R + P.
6. when you do step 5, it will reboot within 3 sec of powering on. repeat 5 for about 3-4 times and let your finger go so it can boot into the desktop.
what this does according to her is to reset the power circulation. basically this allows your MB to send power to wi-fi cards (meaning wi-fi cards might have been losing power due to fault in 10.4.10.
