Chevy Volt rolls out into the open at long last {Engadget}

Sep 8th 2008 10:13PM Congrats GM. I've been holding out on buying a new car just for the Volt. Then you sucked the life out of it and now it's a battery powered crap-fest on wheels.

Seriously you morons, did you think people were excited about the Volt because of the batteries? They were excited because it looked freaking hot and it could go 40 miles without using any gas.

I wanted to buy the Volt because the Prius is a dorkmobile supreme. But you've managed to take away my one affordable, cool-looking, green alternative and replaced it with what probably seemed "cool" to the 60+ year old board member who finally signed off on it after making "design adjustments" to make it "peachy keen".

Panasonic's DMP-BD35 / DMP-BD55 Blu-ray players hands-on {Engadget}

2 guys from Engay were on vacay and wrote up an awesome review of the new Panny and Sammy lappies!

Panny? Seriously Engadget are you a 12 year old girl? Panny, Sammy, lappy, vacay and other moronic "cutsie" versions of words should be banned from the English language. Could you please at least make an effort to write like a professional and not a schoolgirl?

Wii Fit feet-on: feeling the burn, inadequate {Engadget}

May 8th 2008 7:39PM Ryan schmyan - I vote for Veronica in her Star Trek uniform (courtesy of Dvorak) for 1 month of Wii fitness.

Happy birthday: take a trip in America's largest flying gadget (part 1) {Engadget}

Mar 24th 2008 8:30AM Come on Engadget. You're 4 years old now. Don't you think it's time to lose the diapers? That only works for crazy astronauts you know.

Telecom immunity for domestic spying dies on House floor {Engadget}

Feb 15th 2008 8:24AM Wait, aren't you guys the same ones who blame the current administration for not connecting the dots on 9/11? So WTF do you want? Do you want them to know what terrorists are doing or do you want them to keep their eyes and ears closed? You can't have it both ways. Either you give them the tools necessary to go after people who are communicating with known terrorist connections or you don't. If you don't want them to have the ability to "spy" then STFU when your local mall is blown up.

Do you really think anyone in the gov't actually gives a crap about you and your life? Seriously are you so full of yourself that you think anyone at all at any level of government really truly wants to know anything about you?

Having witnessed first-hand some law-enforcement people recognize a possible threat, I can tell you they aren't just wandering around randomly searching for your secret porn collection. They have much bigger fish to fry than a bunch of college libs who hang out on Engadget.

Samsung's Soul slider is coming through {Engadget}

Feb 8th 2008 7:17AM Wow, I can't wait to get this Sammy! It matches my Panny Lappy I got last year on vacay! Wow, I just saved .02 seconds by shortening those words and sounding like a 10 year old girl. Come on Engadget - if you're going to be journalists instead of hacks like Gizmodo, actually SPELL the words out.

Vudu price slashed to keep up with Apple TV {Engadget}

Jan 24th 2008 10:32AM The difference in HD size is simple. The VUDU is not "just" a rental box. Unlike the AppleTV, you can purchase HD movies on the VUDU to keep forever.

Rentals, OTOH are identical.

VUDU will have media extender capabilities in the near future from what I've heard - as well as having it's USB port activated for external storage. VUDU FTW.

Vudu price slashed to keep up with Apple TV {Engadget}

Jan 24th 2008 10:30AM Actually Apple and Vudu will have nearly identical content. Of course people forget that Vudu is using a P2P network, so HD content is instantly available versus Apple's minimum of 30 seconds waiting (or much more on slower networks).

How would you change the VUDU set-top-box? {Engadget}

Jan 4th 2008 7:47PM I've had one for a while now and it's fairly cool. They just started adding TV shows and they're apparently ready to unleash a ton of HD content as well as enabling the external storage port (I forget if it's USB 2.0, Firewire or ESATA). That'll pretty much take care of any storage issues.

When they say small hard drive, apparently the author isn't comparing it to AppleTV's tiny 40 gig drive. The VUDU has a 250 gig drive.

Also, my understanding from hanging out in the Vudu forums is that they're pushing for this thing to eventually be a media extender so things like Digg Nation, Tekzilla, etc., could be copied over.

I think the Vudu guys know very well what needs to happen. The biggest roadblock has been the movie studios which are apparently about as smart as the RIAA when it comes to understanding digital downloads...
