I use it to show my interactive panorama's using CubeWorld
I totally agree on the fact that the 3D is embarassing. I bought a TAM in 1997 for one third of the original price and though the sound was really great there were a lot of issues, the base-unit buzzed, the fans where always noisy, the cd-rom was very slow as was the entire machine, early generation PowerPC.

I myself did some 3D animation on the side, and when I saw what they presented I couldn't believe my eyes, really simple uninspired modeling, tacky backgrounds and horrible music!

I was produced in the final days of Gil Amelio who never was a visioneer design wise unfortunately.

I still loved my TAM for it's LCD screen and super sound, I used it mainly as a CD/MP3 player with SoundJam (later bought by Apple an converted into iTunes.
Well, at that price they should at least include a MacMini!
Yeah, just being curious I installed it and viewed their examples.
My findings:
- dreamy 'fuzzy' video interface, small and unclear
- the keynote video gave an error dialogue requiring to click 'ok' TEN times for it to go away!!!
- nothing different compared Flash on the viewer side

I think the voice of the interviewer has been the inspiration for the voice of Agnes in Apple's speech software :)
Yeah, and investors really got 'scared' after reading this, now pushing the stockprice to an alltime high of $ 90.31
OK let's just stop and put 2 and two together here. Apple has got iPhoto and Aperture covering the amature and professional side of the software. An update to either would be great but nothing stellar enough to announce a special press-event.

What's still missing in the Apple lineup,..... a camera. They ventured in this arena earlier with the QuickTake but that was way to early, cumbersome, low quality and relatively expensive. Now they've got all bases covered, storage and display hard- and software. All you need now is a camera, be it an iPod accessory or even the real deal.

Or could it be a new printer line-up ;)
Aperture is my guess as well though I'd definately would love an iPod Photo, for real this time! Just think of it, you've got a display, plenty of storage, batterypower,... all you need is a decent lens and bOOm a great new iPod!

I always wondered why there is no dockconnector camera add-on?
Here is a clip of the update with the fan noise!

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
